Hahaha, that was f***in' hilarious! Thanx Danny, u brightened my day! What~ where's Saber? P.S. Ironically, I finally caved and ordered my first 4 Figmas this week: Saber, Rin, Lelouch, and Hatsune. Damn otaku-peer pressure, lol. >_< ( View formatted comment » )

Yeah, definitely sux when that happens. Just recently, I had a Western Digital 500GB external USB drive which died on me after 12 months. So I'm just sticking with their smaller but more-reliable WD 100-120 GB sizes. As for downloads and/or personal backups, I've burned hundreds of 4GB DVD discs. The only problem is their rumored 5-to-10-year lifespan before they degrade; but no matter, the solution is just to re-burn them again. Don't know the degradation rate of Blu-Rays, but your massive HD sizes are a totally differen... ( View formatted comment » )

Haha, thanx Danny for yet another "mix life philosophy with eye candy" post! Although, if I may clarify or reiterate (for myself too), a *strong point* isn't necessarily the same thing as having a *passion*. For example, in college, I found the mathematics and mechanics of Civil Engineering to be rather straight-forward. But despite earning my bachelor's degree, I never quite felt the passion for it. So I dropped the master's program. Years later, while I've built a strong career as Technical Writer/Editor, ... ( View formatted comment » )

The BSOD is pretty rare on my 2-year-old Dell/XP laptop. But forget about that~ Wouldn't it make a *great* anime name? Colonel Panic! Colonel Panic! Where's Lieutenant Distress? ^_~ ( View formatted comment » )

Ah, Danny, in my case, you'd guess incorrectly, lol. ^_^; While I first met my ex-wife as a fanzine penpal (not online), I've never yet met a person *in person* whom I first met *online*. Maybe that's a good thing? ( View formatted comment » )

Hmmm, don't know if my ex-wife minded, but my housemate doesn't care, and my parents haven't visited my house in about 7 years, so... lol... As for dust protection, my controversial view is this: "Don't protect it." Yeah, nobody wants to see a dusty figure, but in my experience with 80+ figures, and hand-cleaning 40+ of them recently [ http://www.xjaymanx.com/toybox/2008/07/05/blog-138-o... What is DannyChoo.com? Tough one, even for a technical writer, lol... Long version: "It's not simply one person's site or blog, it's a community. Guided by a playful yet honest vision, it's an international community of like-minded admirers of Japanese entertainment, culture, humor, technology, sexuality, even philosophy. A community by the fans, for the fans." Short version: "A global community guided by its playful yet honest admiration of Japanese entertainment and culture." Something like tha... Damn, beautiful figure, but probably at least several hundred US dollars. T_T; Ah, weak points~ I struggle with that during every major decision or crisis. But whether or not I blog about it the open, that's a different issue and different decision. While I sometimes blog about it, not everyone chooses to, that's their decision. But it doesn't mean they don't try to recognize their weaknesses. But I think u hit the nail on the head, Danny, when u mentioned your wife. Similarly, my ex-wife opened up my formerly-closed-a... Including small 1/10-scales, a few doubles, and a couple pillows/covers, approx $5250 USD (including tax/shipping). Or just under $200/month USD over the last 27 months. But no longer, gotta pay for the car and upgrade the house... T_T;;; ( View formatted comment » )

Ah yes, obstacles. Currently, mine is selling the house in a sucky Las Vegas real-estate market. At its height in 2006-7, my home value was $360K. Since listing it at $290K in February, I've lowered my price to $257K and last month to $249K. But over the weekend, it came to crisis mode, my real-estate agent suggested lowering to $229K. After we worked out the numbers, I'd basically come out with little net cash at all, and for a smaller house in a less-than-perfect neighborhood, while keeping the same monthly payment. So finally, I to... ( View formatted comment » )
