Excellent post!! Thanks for sharing so much great music! I am not really a fan of Ayumi Hamasaki, but the rest is great! "What-choo listening to?" My response: I've been enjoying the new Ajikan CD, "Surf Bungaku Kamakura," the new Dustbox CD, "Blooming Harvest," and the classic Tokyo Jihen CD, "Adult," and the latest release from Chara, "Honey." Oops! Sorry about that-- I haven't been keeping up with DC posts lately (in case that isn't obvious). I only just heard about it today. ( View formatted comment » )

Oh god-- I hope Steve Spielberg and/or The Weinstein brothers don't read this! Anyway-- I really liked Space Battleship Yamato. It was one of my favourite TV shows when I was a kid. Now that I am older and have some knowledge of the real Battleship Yamato, I like it even more! If the battle were real, I think the robot would be destroyed... ^^ ( View formatted comment » )

That was SOOO charming and well.... cute! I love how he wrote the script for them to role play! I think that guy did just fine. If he had tried to push it much further, he would have probably seemed too presumptuous. He was very kind and respectful; the way he should be. Very sweet. ( View formatted comment » )

What I DID find was one of the Haruhi ones that someone else mentioned. It's Tsuruya-- she says "Negasa!" and "Yoro..." ( View formatted comment » )

I have one of those!! "So kono danshi!" she says. I looked everywhere for gachapon machines selling those a couple of weeks ago but I couldn't find any. I was also hoping to find the "onii-chan" version. I got the one I have outside of Yamashiroya in Ueno. ( View formatted comment » )

I bought several cameras in Akihabara over the years-- the duty free benefit that foreigners get from showing their passport is a great benefit. I bought my Canon IXY Digital 700 there a few years ago and the equivalent Digital Elph was not even available back here in the states until months later and it was $140 more than I paid. A couple of wees ago, however, I noticed that there was not such a great savings to be had-- mostly because of the strong Yen and the horribly weak dollar. I guess it depends which currency is "local" for yo... ( View formatted comment » )

Right on!! In fact-- I never cared about "looking cool" at all; I just enjoy smoking. I used to smoke pipes and cigars as well; recently just cigarettes. ( View formatted comment » )

Oh-- i forgot to add one thing. I have two friends who are bar-workers; one of them is a manager. The ban on smoking here in Chicago actually lowered bars' income! Customers usually like smoking so they are less likely to go into bars where they will have to go outside into the cold every time they want to smoke. ( View formatted comment » )

Wow. Well it seems that most people {a} hate cigarettes, {b} hate smokers, {c} think smoking/smokers are stupid, {d} think smokers are ugly, etc. Hmmm. Well, I smoke. I especially like Mild Seven Lights-- the best cigarettes come from Japan. I think that as far as smoking habits go, Japan has some of the most considerate and conscientious smokers in the world-- there are even designated smoking areas all over the place-- even in Narita Airport; it's wonderful. Japan is also the only place I've seen where personal/portable ashtrays are... ( View formatted comment » )

I have a 2GB version of the very same flash drive that's in the photo (except his hoodie is black instead of red)! What else do I carry with me regularly? A Sony Ericsson Z600 mobile phone (getting the new HTC touch soon!), a Canon IXY Digital point and shoot camera, a 160 GB iPod, sometimes a Canon DC230 digital camcorder. ( View formatted comment » )

Haha! I think the WHOLE world likes Obama (except for maybe the Palestinians), he's not Bush and he's not McCain. I have this one: http://www.jailbreaktoys.com/The_Obama_Action_Figure_p/ob000.htm Has anyone seen the Obama impersonator in Japan? http://www.japanprobe.com/?p=5987 ( View formatted comment » )

I would go crazy if my office was like that! There are cute girls everywhere-- including one of my subordinates. I think that could cause some problems. heh. ALSO-- I would always be going downstairs to look at girls in other departments/divisions. I am sure I would never get any work done. There are also plenty of women at work I hope I *NEVER* see after the new dress code is enforced. ^^ It seems like very cute girls have been around me throughout my whole life, especially at my University and at work. I mostly had very little contac... ( View formatted comment » )

Wow! i didn't even know a new Star Trek film was in progress! While I do love the original Enterprise designs, I think this one looks really kool!! At least it's not something awful like the new K.I.T.T. in the new version of Knight Rider. The new Enterprise is still staying in touch with its roots, at least. I must agree with highwind33 on this one, though-- I don't know what to think about that cast! It's kinda.... weird (to me, anyway). I don't think Gene Roddenberry would have selected these actors if he were still ... ( View formatted comment » )
