i actually like the current website design. when i visit your site, i want to see the most recent article immediately without having to scroll (1280x1024), because i want to see if you wrote anything new. looks like these two designs have giant headers that will take a lot of space and not giving me much info. referring to #2 header, i'm too lazy to look left to right and then top to bottom (which article is most recent?), so i prefer to have things organized in a column, most recent stuff on the top of the list.
