I think I prefer all 3D... except for the trap. There's more attraction than moe, whereas with 2D I just get lots of moe. ( View formatted comment » )

For me it would depend on the pose. I mean, wouldn't we all gag if there were naked statues of Paris Hilton or Brittney Spears' in their most lewd or disgusting poses? ( View formatted comment » )

I think people tend to think dubs sound weird because they're not used to hearing a particular voice in a particular way in a non-Japanese language. In your mind you associate a stereotype of a voice with Japanese and it becomes harder to accept in English if they focus on matching an unnatural voice. You might feel the same effect if you've played particular Japanese ports of English games. I think they did a smashing job with that clip, even though it sounded like some people had crap recording setups. ( View formatted comment » )

I think it depends on what came first. If it's something from novel->manga->anime, you could lose a lot going from novel (see: Zero no Tsukaima). One reason I didn't touch the either ZnT anime after a few episodes... I think manga would spoil anime if it is more fleshed out, because then the anime would just feel like a rehash of significant events with sometimes insignificant/irrelevant padding between; whereas if only the anime for the series was watched it might be perfectly enjoyable by itself. Thank you sir. Though I realize the value of doujin is incomparable in worth to the value of life, as a fellow man I give you many years of my gratitude for providing this link. m(_'_)m ( View formatted comment » )

The most I've ever seen of these is in online advertisements. Maybe it is because the police crack down pretty hard in places with high levels of prostitution. ( View formatted comment » )

The RPG's designed to penetrate with an initial charge and detonate after getting behind armor. And even if the damage did not look severe, remember that there air pressure caused by the explosion can cause severe trauma to a body as it passes through (collapsing lungs, ruptured blood vessels, etc). It looks like extravagant rice gruel. I'm fine with my pickled veggies and chicken bouillon rice. Nice and affordable at around 40-50cents a serving. But... how much do those furikake packets cost? ( View formatted comment » )

The most I hear about tampering is using CO to make meat appear redder--maybe that's because I live in California where lots of large farms are. To the guy below--that's not food tampering, but negligence. It's a problem with quality control, not trying to sell old trash as new. ( View formatted comment » )

Does Nintendo publish guides or license the title for guides for that game? Maybe that's why. Otherwise, that seems quite stupid. Guides are essential for people who don't have lots of time to play, I think. Ever since I've been attendeding university, I've only had time to play through games once on my own, and then clear everything I can on my second try using a guide. ( View formatted comment » )

I worked in a free clinic for a year or so and there were lots of pot junkies who came through. The doctors would tell them the should cut back so they wouldn't be coming in as often, but they'd be in the next week or the next month, taking time away from other patients with diseases and not addictions. I don't believe weed is bad, since there are applications in medicine where it can be used, but the effect it has on a person makes people satisfied to laze around or do nothing. Around Berkeley, you'll find regulars around c... ( View formatted comment » )
