Do not consider myself otaku and do not understand 90% of the figures related posts that go on here. The melon you saw probably had nice "webbing" on the outside. The high-grade melons usually have very uniform criss-cross patterns. You can find some cheaper melons at a normal supermarket and will notice the webbing will be all mashed together - and it will taste virtually the same!
