In college there were a number of Computer Science students who were really anti-anime. I was in a group with one once who went on this rant about how he couldn't stand all the anime loving CS students. I just shook my head and went back to work, wondering how he would feel knowing that one of those anime loving CS students was doing half the work on the project. ( View formatted comment » )

That looks really good! I'll have to try it if I can ever find it. Unfortunately the Japanese restaurants in the US seem to only serve katsudon, oyakodon, and tendon. Not that I'm complaining, since I love katsudon. ( View formatted comment » )

I actually really liked McDonalds in Japan when I was living there (except that I didn't know how to order my burger without ketchup and pickles). The McDonalds in the US, on the other hand, I avoid like the plague. Generally when I go for fast food it isn't burger places. ( View formatted comment » )

It would really depend on the quality of the subbing. Some of the groups who do subbing actually produce really high quality products, with nicer fonts and better translations than some of the DVDs I've bought. Video quality would also be a factor. But really, if a studio can release the streaming, translated version shortly after broadcast, I would be tempted to partake, given that subbing groups can be spotty in their releases.
