Hi. I'm Mimi (nickname). I like red bean paste buns and teriyaki-flavored seaweed. If any of you have seen my pictures, i am older then i look. >.> I consider myself a twinkie because i can speak but can't read everything and have lived in U.S. for quite a while now. My sister Mitsu goes on here as well. I used to model a bit but now i just teach piano and go to school! ^^ (Quit modeling cuz they wanted me to weigh 85lbs. Can you believe that? That's anorexic! lol)

Yeah that's definitely true, but the word "double eyelid" in Japanese has sort of a positive connotation and is an implication of beauty. However, this is just from personal experience. Like when someone says, "She has double eyelids." She implicates, "She's beautiful." Many Asians get double-eyelid surgery like it's no big deal nowadays... and honestly the majority of people who are opposed to the concept overall are westerners. ( View formatted comment » )

I know a lot of you are ridiculing this, but many of your favorite idols and famous Japanese stars have gone through double-eyelid surgery. Oh the irony. -__-;; I think you guys just don't understand that you're part of the reason why so many women want double-eyelids (or that so many are thankful for having them). When people are rating girls and picking which ones are prettier than others, especially on websites like these, where it's obvious that men have preferences over which girls are "prettier", it's hard to just ignore that, continue being ugly, and moving on with life. It's not that Asians want to look like white people. You have to admit, the definition of the "golden ratio" is predominantly European. Double eyelids is considered more beautiful because it puts more of an emphasis on your eyes. It just coincidentally happens to give them larger, or more western looking eyes.
