Season one looks better to me. It feels closer to Yu Aida's style on the manga, and the characters look much more serious compared to the second season, which befits the mood of the story.
The bright coloring and strange proportions of the second season looks out of place to me.

Here's my list with some reasonings:
1.) Isako (Dennou Coil) - While the series is still popular. I believe the show was a big hit with the otaku crowd especially those who appreciate a concentrated effort in animation quality. Isako is probably the most popular character in that show, and deservingly so.
2.) Etna (Disgaea) - Reprint/Reissue the Max Factory Etna 1/7 scale PVC sculpted by BUBBA around the time Disgaea 3 comes out in Japan. It is considered to be the best Etna ... ( View formatted comment » )
