Only 5 huh? Thats tough for me but Ill give it a try.
1. Setsuna from Mahou Sensei Negima in her maid costume with her wings out in a mid-flight/take-off pose. Her sword in one hand and her artifact in the other.
2. Signum from Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha in a battle pose with interchangeable weapons. From her snake form, to sword form, to bow form.
3. Yuuko from xxxHOLiC/Tsubasa Chronicle in the outfit she wears to greet dimensional travelers.

I don't believe what I'm hearing... how can you guys NOT like this series? Did you actually give it a chance to go passed episode 1?
It's got humour, drama, great visuals, an amazing soundtrack, and one of the most interesting combos of character personalities I've seen in a while. I don't know about comparing it to Haruhi since it kind of stands on its own in terms of genre but this series definitely isn't one to be missed.
