Really? I completely saw that coming, but still laughed when it did. :P ( View formatted comment » )

89.6 is still an overwhelming need and near monopoly. ^^; Of course, I doubt that Net Applications takes into account the machine running it and not just the OS. Since I run Boot Camp and generally use Windows for my browing, my Apple machine likely registered as Windows most of the time. ( View formatted comment » )

Oops, posted too soon. Come to think of it, I do get one from LEGO every six monthes or so. Do you count e-mail catalog/newsletter updates? In which case I also get stuff from Hobby Search, Rokenbok (a kid's toy construction system-thing), and Del Rey (publisher of the Star Wars novels) ( View formatted comment » )

No catalog. It might be nice to have around, but I've really only purchased stuff from Hobby Search so far. Besides which, I get enough temptation from DC as is. ( View formatted comment » )

Watching anime/reading manga is given, so I'm not going to list it. - slight figure collecting - learning Japanese, though that has more to do with Japanese culture in general rather than otaku subculture - AMV creation; only sort of. I have an idea, music, and the anime in RAW, but haven't started - fanfiction reading - fanfiction writing; again, only sort of. I have an idea, and I'm rewatching Zero no Tsukaima and taking notes before I start ( View formatted comment » )

2D girl with lower torso missing - not the best, but acceptable since it's a drawing. 3D girl with lower torso missing - slightly disturbing. No thank you. ( View formatted comment » )

I watch anything that's not guro and horror, so yes, I've watched my fair share of sports anime. I like it - it's a nice change from all the killing and shooting and sappy romance/fanservice every now and then. My definition of "sports" anime is closer to "competition" anime though - with series like Initial D included. As long as the action is explained somewhat and not completely unbelievable (as opposed to: I PULL SUPERNATURAL MOVE THAT CAN SHOOT SOMETHING INTO SPACE OUT OF MY AS-) then I'm fi... That idea appeals to me. ^^ And hey, does size increase as the elements get heavier? Personally though, I'm not so sure this would help me study. Somehow I get the feeling I'd be more distracted. ( View formatted comment » )

Same - both look fine to me, but I think the face is a marked improvement in the edited version. Eye-enlargement = unneeded. I also don't understand why they took away the tattoo over her optical pair of eyes. ( View formatted comment » )

The Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X OVAs were very nice - I can't say I enjoyed watching them since I don't particularly enjoy tearjerkers, but it was extremely emotional and well done. The Full Metal Panic: Second Raid OVA was hilarious from beginning to end, and featured Tessa (Tessa!) so it's instant-win. ( View formatted comment » )

I'm fine with SEED in general, but I completely fell in love with Stargazer's ED of the same name. There's some beautiful violin in that song... ( View formatted comment » )

Only thing missing now is something other than a flat black background. :P Nice work. I happen to like "Raising Heart". Raging Heart sounds cooler, but it doesn't really suit Nanoha's character well. I'm not counting the fanmade berserk Nanoha. ( View formatted comment » )

Sorry, no girl would be worth $60,000 USD. Even one as nice as Mikuru. I probably won't be fuming pissed for long - hard to stay mad at Mikuru - but I still want my money back. ( View formatted comment » )

Well if you think about it, despite having the least income, students have the most *disposable* income. They generally don't need to worry about paying mortgage, raising a family and such. At this age, we're also less inclined to put money into savings and investments. ^^; Yes, we do have tuition, perhaps rent, food and such, but it's still less than a fully working member of society, and for some people their parents even cover that for them. xP Why do you think so many advertisments target our age group? Whoa, wait a second, he's infertile? But I was just reading over at Sankaku about how it's partly a shotgun wedding, due to him getting his now-fiancee pregnant. http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2008/12/03/miscarry-%e2%80%93-fujoshi-vow-revenge-over-seiyuu%e2%80%99s-new-wife/ ( View formatted comment » )

Yeah, the mangaka keeps a low profile - I remember reading that somewhere. I was really disappointed with the ending, too -
basically none of the pairings win, and while that means he's not catering to fans of a particular pairing it's not an ending anyone wanted either. I, for one, would rather he end up with Eri if he couldn't be with Yakumo, rather than no one at all.
( View formatted comment » )

I don't really take pictures of figures or models, but one I thing I can tell you is that flash is evil. No matter what I'm taking a picutreof, I don't use it unless it's absolutely necessary. :P It tends to make the image look flat and unnatural because the light source is coming from the same angle as the lens, and casts long shadows directly behind the subject.
