It's amazing. Japan currently has a max of what? 120Mbit speeds with no d/l limit? Now they're getting 1Gb. Us here in Australia have to suffer with 20Mbit connections with like 20-30Gig d/l limit for $80-$100AUD. And there's still no word for 100Mbit from our local telcos. ( View formatted comment » )

Resolution of d/l's may be higher, but color depth and reproduction is poor. Was watching Macross F from Menclave, then a friend advised me to check out Lunar's subs. Were definantly higher quality (subtle difference though); but placing FLCL dvd into my drive, that's better quality than anything I've d/l'd (except Byousoku 5cm). ( View formatted comment » )

Yeah, you should just torrent it. So long as you're not making money from it... just consider it a training period. When you're good enough to sell your works, buy the full version ( View formatted comment » )

Are we talking about the torrent versions here, or the one that airs in Nihon? Personally, I trust menclave above all other subbing groups and their quality is always the best (IMO)... ( View formatted comment » )

As harsh as it sounds, yes. Their lives are of less value to the world. Hence why in combat situations generals make plans instead of risking their lives on the front lines. While ethically all lives are equal, the attendees of events such as G8 make and change the political climate of the world; 300 randoms on a 747 do not. I bring your attention to the recent killing of Benazir Bhutto in Pakistan and the new level of political unrest borderlining on civil war it caused. Hundreds, perhaps thousands are murdered for political reasons dail... ( View formatted comment » )

...thought I might add: while everything is really nicely drawn and the 3D animation is perfectly smooth (as all 3D is), the 2D animation is 2nd rate. They spent too much money on the 3D and forgot to hire animators for the in-between frames. ( View formatted comment » )

Sean (SF) gotta agree with you 100%. Pretty as it looks, it's not as gripping a tale as Gundam. Never seen DOMU, what's that about? ( View formatted comment » )

A few people have commented that the whale species Japan intends to hunt aren't endangered thereby reducing the gravity of the situation. I would point out that the first step to extinction the progressive killing of a species from which it cannot maintain it's numbers. Figures from greenpeace: "...to estimate that humpback whales could have numbered 1.5 million prior to the onset of commercial whaling in the 1800s. That number dwarfs the figure of 100,000 previously accepted by the IWC based on 19th century whaling records. ... ( View formatted comment » )

Good to see that you make changes based on your audiences requests/wishes; and I see that you subscribe to the principle of ねまわし(sp?). Not to be a bother, but I also wanted to see a change to the way user posts are viewed (read: the current system requires alot of scrolli... ( View formatted comment » )

My dad once told me that bullet-proof glass could only stop bullets, but not much else. Now I understand what he meant. Also, though the mannequin(sp?) wasn't vaporised, any human standing there would've been critically or fatally wounded... ( View formatted comment » )

If you look closely you'll notice that there are wires plugged into at least 3 boards. It's possible that this could be a home-brew supercomputer setup, no? ( View formatted comment » )

I was going to pick up a new HDD today. Thanx for reminding me that I also need more RAM (running 1G ATM). BTW is there which online store for US/Jap PC products do people recommend that will ship to Australia? ( View formatted comment » )

Will Smith wouldn't act in just some BS zombie flick. While he's not the greatest actor in the world he chooses carefully. With his name on it, I'm convinced this will be a must-watch. ( View formatted comment » )

Read Danny's post again. This is not a console war (who cares these days?). It's a mecha design war. Funny if in the next few days we see a snapped Sky Girls disc on an official Gundam blog; then a snapped Gundam disc on Gainax blog; then a snapped Eva on... ( View formatted comment » )
