My bet is that it's something like the water bottles, to scare away cats. But it probably doesn't work... at all. ( View formatted comment » )

Normally, in the US, no. Anime DVDs aren't that worth it in my opinion. They run for about $25 and only include about 4 or 5 episodes. True, they're DVD quality, have dual-audio, and subtitles, but the fact that they're so darn expensive isn't appealing to me at all. I have been thinking about it, and just about the only anime DVDs I would ever buy would be box sets of series which I REALLY enjoyed (ex. Eureka Seven, waiting on that box set). I do own one box set at the moment, Neon Genesis Evangelion 10th Anniversary Collec... ( View formatted comment » )

For me, it's pretty hard to choose between dubs and raw Japanese w/ subs, but I'll have to go with the subs for this one. Sometimes, dubs are more convenient when you don't want to read subtitles; i.e. you're too busy with homework/studying and basically use your peripheral vision to watch your anime/movie/dorama/etc. The problem with dubs is that they sometimes lack quality, but I have seem some where the dub jobs were done superbly (Eureka Seven, anyone?). Another reason why dubs are "inferior" is that they lose ... ( View formatted comment » )

I agree, the best Chinese food is to be found in Hong Kong, where the chefs still have pride in their cookery. ( View formatted comment » )

Everything... looks... so... DELICIOUS! Man, I want to go to Japan and munch down on everything in festivals. I wish we had some here, but unfortunately, we don't have many Japanese festivals with food hawkers. I love all of your photos Danny, keep it up. :D ( View formatted comment » )

Man, I also can't wait for the new season. It was stupid because of the writer's strike, but it better pick up fast in the beginning. I'd have to say that either Hiro or Sylar are my favorite characters, just because they're so badass. ( View formatted comment » )

I sooooo agree with more seasons of Aria, set in the future after *insert spoilers here* happen. Read my review on Aria located on my MAL, it really expresses how much I love the series. I'd love to see some more Sketchbook, but because it wasn't that huge of a success, I can't really see that happening. Another season of Beck would be spectacular, after the band is formed and whatnot and what happens in the series. I'd also like to see more Over Drive and Oofuri because they were just spectacular as well. ( View formatted comment » )

Well, anime isn't as widespread as it currently is where I live. Honestly, you'd expect to see more down here, but I just guess that America just has it's differences. ( View formatted comment » )

London. I've always wanted to go there. It's actually pretty high on my list of places I want to go. I've always been amazed with the English from a pretty young age, and going there would be a dream come true. :D ( View formatted comment » )

I probably wouldn't be taking any pictures like this in my life time. Unless it was part of my job, or the lady asked me to, I'd probably do it. :D ( View formatted comment » )

Great news! I loved the first season, the second season wasn't that bad either. I really don't understand why everyone hated the second season so much. It's just a little down on animation, so what? Everything else was basically the same. Hopefully, the third season will get better. I'm totally going to plan to watch this if it ever does release. ( View formatted comment » )

OMG, it's so adorable!!! I loved Tsukasa in the series. :D Yeah, Lucky Star was on my watch list. It was totally hilarious. I just love slice of life series, they're so relaxing and funny at the same time. The first episode put you off?! I can see how that would happen, but you really should watch the rest of it. ;D ( View formatted comment » )

We don't get many gun robberies around here, but I guess it's because guns aren't as readily available as knives. You can just go out and buy a kitchen knife and it'll work just fine for anything you want to use it for. A knife can be as lethal and threatening as a gun in certain situations, I guess only when the "knife-wielder" is within "stabbing-range" of the target. ( View formatted comment » )

Hmm, I could think of a few anime series and movies that I really hated. Just off the top of my head, lets see... 1. Elfen Lied 2. Shakugan no Shana and everything related to it 3. Kanokon 4. Air 5. Chobits 6. Kimi-kiss 7. Metropolis 8. Myself; Yourself 9. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. 10. ef - a tale of memories The list goes on, but you can make a speculation from that. Ugh, this movie wasn't even worth the laughs, it was torture. I hated it, my friends hated it, and you probably will hate it as well. I'd rather watch Superbad or Semi-Pro. Yeah, it was that bad. ( View formatted comment » )

Oh Danny, you and your black clothes. What's up with the half-boiled eggs on everything you ate? Well, last time I went to Japan, I had a fair amount of raw/half-cooked eggs. I don't really mind the taste or texture, quite frankly, I think they're pretty good. Man, every single "A Week in Tokyo" entry leaves my mouth watering. Everything in Japan just looks so delicious!!! I can't wait til I go back next time. :D ( View formatted comment » )

Doraemon with the Cantonese dubs. That was back when I was probably 4 years old. I was surprised that they still air it in Hong Kong that last time I went. ( View formatted comment » )
