My dad on the otherhand... I remember him renting Robotech and other OVAs when I was little. He sometimes watches anime that's shown on TV, the dubbed stuff :P My dad used to be a hardcore Avengers comic collector. Too bad he got rid of all of his comics when we moved.

Hmm.. I guess it depends on the field. A laptop would be bad for animation. Maybe during the building process it's ok, but certainly not the rendering process and post production. In my year of animation, I actually used about 25 computers to render out my whole scene, and even that was a long time to get done. Thank goodness for an A/C'ed room.

I suffered a HD death last year. It was the most depressing experience, since I lost all my personal pics, memorable works and music. I've had a couple of dead HDs, but this was the worst. I was considering taking the HD to a data recovery place, but I'm kind of skeptical. I don't want my personal things being copied and leaked. It took me almost close to a year to accept the fact that I've lost everything.

That reminds me of a field trip to a career fair when I was in the last year of elementary school (grade 7).
The fair was hosted in a new office building at the top floors. At the end of the trip my school starts to proceed to the elevators, but one person working for the career fair shoved and crammed a whole lot of us into the elevator. When the door closed, barely clipping the last students, something went wrong and the elevator went up (we were already at the top floors) and stopped operating.
