Nope! would not write an article on some product I did not like for the exact same reasons you do. When I created my blog I didn't intend it to be a hit at all: instead I am getting about 300 hits a day after a year or two of dedicated blogging. I won't recommend something unless I like it.

I have read of the pay-cash-to-review services but had the same though as you. We would have to lie about their product if it sucks.

Seems like you've appeared in a lot of newspapers ^^ Good job Danny!

Will try your tip onf automating work flow ^^;

I once was a member of a three to four (depending on who we liked at the time) member team of computer hardware reviewers for a site called 2fastcpu that is now long since dead. We too had the same issues with companies expecting glowing reviews. In fact, it's such a problem in the tech area that even free stuff is often expected to get glowing reviews when we specifically take the stance that we are going to provide a truthful and non-biased opinion on the product.

In the end, a lot of companies just expect bloggers to be tools for advertisement. They're forgetting what the spirit of blogging: free and personal opinion.

It's amazing how someone nowadays can make a living doing the thing they really love to do. I guess that's why all those different outlets interviewed you and such.
 But I guess, as a previous person said, congratulations on your success.
Your passion for everything you blog about comes out in all the stuff you put on your site, so again congrats and Keep up the good work! I know a lot of people look forward to it.

there's no way i'm going to sell to corporation just to earn some extra income. you'll only be deceiving your readers and also yourself and making your blog more like a corporate marketing robot and less of a human...

there are other ways to earn income and sharing your traffic with the others is a great contribution to the otaku community not to mention earn even more income from it lol

thanx for the tips danny. your blog is a great inspiration to all ^^

Danny, much kudos on your publicity! Your site continues to rock daily. Your content is fresh and concise (with just the right amount of sex appeal). Besides the stuff you write about, I also look forward to the new features that you're always adding to the site. All the time I hear people saying "I don't have time to do x, y, or z", but then I look at your site and think that's just bs. Keep it up brutha. Looking forward to your incorporation announcement.

You are a good exemple of what i think about the whole blogospere craps:

- You got some arrogants folks who are just spending their time to blog about how to attract visitors, playing the SEO teacher, and got just 1000 visitors/day. Most of them don' t even know how to write a correct line of php

- and you got others folks who do attract hundred of thousand visitors without playing the teachers, by just blogging about what they like.

Gongratulations Danny, but i do note that you know fews php trics ^o^

Never would I write a review for money. My personal integrity is too important. I have always believed strongly that people who have the most traffic are those who people feel are honest and general all around decent individuals.

I very happy to see you getting so much positive recognition, congratulations Danny. Your site is very much Otaku, but you get such a broad spectrum of readers and attention outside the Otaku community. I think that is really great and want that for my own blog.

So true, always do something you are passionate about. In the end it is the only thing that keeps one involved with it from day to day and when times get stressful. It pays off for us Otaku to be so dedicated, many of us translate it into our work.

I want very much to have an Anime Otaku blog, but think right now is the wrong time. Who want to read another American Otaku blog, so many are doing a great job at it already. I will start out with photography and include more Gundam and such when I move to Japan. For now, I'm studying up on WordPress until I can start coding my own site. I write post for two private blogs and try to comment a lot to other blogs, need to improve my writing skills.

Sorry, I get so pumped when I start planning and work on a goal.  I tend to run on too long... ^^;

Dear Danny,

With the hard work in maintaining the site, you deserve the credit.

Thanks to figure sites like yours, my credit card bill hits over 85,000 yen this month again (most of it going to HobbySearch). Some online retailers pay a small commission to sites that refer shoppers to them. I know Play-Asia has their Affiliate Program and Amazon Japan have something similar as well. I wouldn't mind supporting Dannychoo.com through such programs.

I don't like writing a scripted review. Heck why would it be called a review of only positive stuffs were stated or being forced to be positive>? :)

Anyways i think you should also find a Tie Fighter Pilot Sir Danny so that your Legion would be complete XD
