Man I wish I could find a model store like that. The few Hobby shops that are near me are mostly RC stuff with little in the way of plastic model supplies. I haven't been able to find a great shop online either, found several good ones but in order to get everything I need had to order from 3 or 4 different places. I may have to end up traveling to Sacramento or San Francisco to find some that even comes close to that store.

I could really use a trip to this shop right now, need to replace parts for my MG GPO2.  It's the special paint version, so I might need to get the parts from Bandai.  I can see a Ball!  For some reason i want to build a Ball... ^^;

The GPO2 kit was a gift so I really want to complete it so it can be seen. I've been lucky in the past and had pen pals - before I met my fiancee - who would get replacement parts for me. Although, a few times I have put kits aside and never finish building. ^^; For broken parts, I usually repair them.

Depending on how badly damaged the and what part it was, I may be able to salvage it with some welding glue or metal support pins. I have broken pieces in the past >.

If I would ever get a chance to go to japan, I would breing an extra suitcase just to fill with Gundams and figures

Oh man, if only we had a store even remotely similar to Gunpla heaven. My PG AEUG MkII only has one spare beam rifle E-pac due to me throwing out the pieces for the other by accident, and my Hyper Bazooka's handle just plain snapped off.

And I won't even get started on the rest of my MG's... orz

Broken many, latest victim was the HGUC Hazel, the plastic elbow joint was supposed to look better, but it was so flimsy that it broke the first moment I moved it. 20 years ago I probably would scratch build the joint, but spare time is at a premium these days, so I'll likely bury it soon. Totally staying away from these from now on.

Also disappointed that the MG are using more ABS parts and less p-cap/soft plastic for joints to supposedly strengthen the stance. It will be a big waste of money if anything on the Hi-nu broke...And please, Bandai, no unnecessary big box for those of us who have to pay shipping.

Bitching ended.

The most common parts I have broken are two piece hands and waist parts. If the damage isn't bad I usually repair the parts myself, but I am too careful not to permanently break anything, or else I couldn't finish the kit!

I've broken and lost lots of parts. They usually get lost while I'm building the kit. Considering how I only build my gundam in my tidy room, I'm confused where all of them could have disappeared to. So far, I've ordered an extra rifle and hands from the PG strike to mod'd onto my other 1/60 models. I'm thinking about order the weapon systems from the 1/60 strike and mod them for the PG. Would be nice if we had a shop here...

ahhhhhh~~~ swiish man! I never even knew Bandai would resupply some parts that broke! I just thought you had to go buy another kit! anyway just wanna say, I have that Gunpla kit you bought that day! and I've made a comparison that the American Wing Version of the Wing 0 Custom looks, firstly the shoulder armour's are really bulky compared to the EW one (which I have made my own custom version) and the EW version has yet to have a special coating model (even though its been about 7 years since EW came out).

Have fun with the kit though!

Well. I live a long long way from Japan so getting to the store is not an option. I've searched on the net and can't seem to find a place where I can get replacement parts yet some of you apparently have via mail?

How can I get a replacement part without having to resort to buying a whole new kit?

Danny, do they have any means of internet or mail service delivery at all? I wouldn't get parts for replacement per se, but for modifications and the like, they're vital. Especially if you're like me and are trying to convert older (F90) kits to MG standard.

Do they sell whole 'trees' of parts? If they do (enough to literally build an MG inner frame with), then I'd be game to buy some...if I can find out how.

(please email me privately, thanks!)

It's going to be very hard to get a (one) specific part from Bandai considering their all the way in Japan, I'm assuming when they manufacture their model kits and make extra trees of parts. And just send them to shops n' whatnot, best thing to do is either go to Japan and pick some up....or buy a whole 'nother kit. Which both would be a waist of time and money, so best advice is to be very careful when building/posing model kits. Don't be ashamed if you broke a part, cus it happens to everybody. We think models are action figures so we try to pose them n' whatnot like they are

I will totally RAID that store and buy so much Gunpla when I visit Japan it ain't even funny!

Typically with the models I build, I will scratchbuild a new part if something breaks. Say I snap a antannae, I will first proclaim my dissatisfaction by yelling an explitive, then I may use brass rod to replace it.

For more complicated parts, I am:

a) screwed
b) try to scatchbuild
c) deal with it
d) order new parts

Tamiya and Revell are good about getting me what I need.
