It's very comendable that you decided to donate your organs. I also did aabout a year ago after an uncle of mine went trough hell after not getting a donner for an operation he needed.

I've never really thought much on it, to be honest. Got too much in life to first. I suppose I would be buried, however there is just something I don't like about graveyards... I live close to one and I hate it. Not out of spite for the dead, but I don't like graveyards... never have

wow! real estate is not only expensive for the living but also for the dead @@

if ever i'll move to the after life, i'd rather be burned/cremated and have my ashes by kept in a jar. this way, less space and the whole family and maybe even the clan could fit in one mausoleum

I have seen a documentary on this. I believe that prices are so high because of the lack of free space in Japan -again-, those HUGE high-quality marble tombstones and so on.

I have also learned about cemeteries exclusively reserved for pets. Very special, if you ask me.

I'd choose cremation, myself. My ashes would be dispersed to the four winds or be buried... I don't know yet and I am not really thinking about it right now.

Each time I visit a graveyard and then exit it, I feel that Death takes us anywhere, anytime without any form of discrimination and that I am my time has not come yet... Let's enjoy life still we can!

-Note: Fed to animals? You're kidding right?! lol-

Ya, funerals here in the U.S. cost a lot too...i believe at least $50k that includes a decent spot in a cemetery, arrangements, and ceremony. But I decided to go the way of my ancestors and get burned, not necessarily alive. But the organ doner thing might be done before I get scorched, never know when someone might need a piece of me.

When I die, I would tie myself to losta fireworks and shoot myself into the air. That way it would be a joyous occasion and people would know about my death. ^_^

I think most of the Chinese here in Singapore (at least my family) choose to be burnt and then the ashes will be kept somewhere. In addition, we also have ancestral tablets that are kept in temples and they cost quite a lot. Its like 800,000 yen for a piece of wood and the space to display it in their "shelf".

That's really expensive.
Here, the Chinese people are the one's who wouldn't mind buying huge lots (from 12 to 72sqm) and building a mausoleum on it would cost more than that of a living person's standard home.

Plus! The Feng Shui design.

There's this one mausoleum in the Metro that can house the entire clan. Literally.

Well, people die if they are killed, and fortunately, dying in my country is still far cheaper than dying in Japan.

If there's one absurd wish I always wanted after I have died, I wish to have my brain separated from my old, obselete body and planted on a 7 foot tall bipedal tank with enough nuclear ICBMs to blow this world twice. Yes, obvious Metal Gear reference there, sans the brain-to-machine part.

Ever since I played Kana~Little Sister I've wanted to donate my organs when I die. Why be selfish and keep them to yourself when you get killed or die especially if someone could live a good long life with the donor. Loved the option "To be fed to animals" x)

When it comes to dying, it's quite cheap here I guess. Though you can buy a burial site for 20 or 30 years here. Graveyards are quite a bit bigger here. Afterall, there's only about 5 000 000 people inhabiting 338,000km^2 of land.

I don't want to be burnt to ashed for one single reason only: It's f*cking expensive. :P

So it goes this way: medics can strip my carcass off of anything that's useful for something/someone.. the rest you can burry somewhere.

Anyways, I've been on one of those Japanese graveyards... my parents where looking for old relatives that didn't immigrate to Brazil. My grandparents came on... I think it was the 5th wave of immigration.

Might be expensive, but I've never seen such beautiful, clean graveyard... people really take good care of those. At least on the one I went, that was in a small portuary city... forgot the name right now.

But anyways, here in Brazil it's not that cheap too. And things go more or less the same. You "rent" a small piece of land and all the family goes there. Service, coffin, and all other stuff are also expensive... though not as close as the numbers Danny post there.

Have you ever been to the Yanaka district of Tokyo? It escaped the firebombing in WW2, so its largely unchanged and old-fashioned. Theres millions of shrines, temples and graveyards there - its so peaceful.

As for me, burnt thanks! I dont believe in god or any religion, so the less space, money and waste my corpse will produce, the better! Though it would be cool to come back as a zombie, i just dont like the idea of my body in a cold box turning into worm-food.
