ちょっとしたアナウンスのため、TAF2007のリポをちょっとだけ休憩します。
いつものヲタ系記事より、自分の知り合いへの知らせという形で申し訳ありません。
今月いっぱいでマイクロソフトをやめます。今までサイドでやっていた個人事業の廃業届けをし、僕が今月設立したMIRAI株式会社の代表取締役になります。
事業内容は個人事業の時とさほど変わりなく、CGMとSEOプラットフォーム構築とソリューションだ。個人事業でやっているうちに、会社でもらっていた収入より多くなってきたし、35歳までに（現在34）独立すると目標を8年前にセットしたのでタイミングとしてはいいではないかと思った。
個人事業の屋号はMIRAIでした。理由は、その事業は僕の未来のすべての始まりとなるだろうと思ったからだ。今月設立した会社もそのまま「MIRAI」を使い、「株式会社」を後尾に付けているだけ^^;
このサイトの運営も相変わらず続けます。心はヲタクのままです^^; フィギュア、ガンダム、アニメ、コスプレなどへの愛着は変わりません。近いうちに目黒か恵比寿辺りに事務所に引っ越す予定ですが、受付にはフィギュアだらけのグラス棚をディスプレイするつもりであります^^;そのときに写真撮っておきますね^^;

Congratulations Danny. I wish the best for you and your company. You are right, it is always great to like your job, but if it's insecure and/or doesn't pay well... You never know. So having a safe alternative route of income is always welcome. Money, money, money~... It may sound a bit selfish, but you do need it for a living. Responding to clients' needs, adapting to them and taking initiatives are the keys to success! You've got a strong, large network that has been established with the years too. I feel you will be doing great... Wait, you are already, so keep it up! I don't mind if this site makes you earn money in return (maybe others would disagree, I don't know), we as visitors (regular or not) are here to learn something new from Japan and the otaku's way of life, exchanging ideas and opinions freely and maybe constituting a network of anime/idol fans (?)... As long as there are no stupid, offensive, hurtful-to-the-eyes pop-up ads, it's all right! So yes, don't hold back, grasp the present opportunity and spread your wings, soar the skies, explore the world on your own without any thoughts of fear and regret, fight for your future without looking back... Oops. I guess I'm getting too inspired there. ^-^ Do your best! Never forget, you are not alone. P.S.: I wonder what kind of hate mail you received lately. Same as before or different? It would be amusing to know what they wrote to you this time. Don't hesitate to share the laughter with us!

Nice one! Your ambitiousness (is that a word?) is commendable! I really hope it works out for you, as leaving a high profile job like Microsoft is somewhat risky, but after reading your explaination, I can understand why you are doing it. Best of luck!

Glad to hear you have made the big step forward by leaving Microsoft and focusing all your energy on your own business. You have the skills, experience and know your where your competition is falling short, I have no doubt you will be successful. I fail to see how people can say you are bragging. If you didn't have any work of your own - like this site - to show what you are capable of doing and no practical experience. Then I could understand their argument. Yes, you have to tell the world what you can do. If you don't do it no one else will. At the end of the day you can only measure your accomplishments and your failures by your own standards. You have no time for regret or failure for what should have been done. You have important work to do so I will shut up. It was so refreshing to read your words. I don't feel like a voice in the wilderness and see I'm being told many of the same things you have been told. I plan to be my own boss in the next 10 years. I want to spend the latter part of my life doing what I enjoy. Keep us up to date when you can. I'm always interested in hearing how things are developing.

Nice job Danny, I remember that you wanted to make your own company by certain age and YOU'VE DONE IT. heheheh Sound very fun. I have a 2nd source of income which is doing freelance work or temp work for varies companies and individuals in my area or on international level. Been Interactive Media Designer (Web Design and Development) really allows me to have as many clients as I want. It also fun, because I'm my own boss and have my own time lines for each freelance job. My current job is fun as webmaster for University, though it will be over this summer. Onward to a permanent one, though I kind of want to work for Advertising Firm or something of that sort. :-)
