撮像素子を自分で挑戦したい方は自己責任で^^;

I would be sweating too, but I'd probably try and do it myself. One more thing I need to consider before making the jump to dSLR.

I know what you mean...don't really have a lens camera myself but I hate it when stuff lands on the lenses of my digital camera making some kind of weird figure when taking a quick group photo or what not

looks like u managed well!... i'd definitely hesitate with my 350D... but in this light, the 3-step anti-dust technology ("EOS Integrated Cleaning System": anti-static materials, ultrasonic vibration, and software removal) in the 400D (a.k.a. Rebel XTi) looks more and more appealing!... but understandably more expensive :)

I probably should do this sometime in the future as well. ^^ May I ask how often should one do this?

Ohh! The new Canon Digital Rebel has a feature that removes the dust on the CMOS... but will your problem be corrected with this new feature?

Ohh another question, did you try those compressed spray cans? They do a pretty good job at blowing dusts away.

"Make sure you have good lighting"

Yes, but you gotta make sure your sensor is not exposed for too long under strong light...

You got your CMOS cleaning done :)

I try to prevent dust from entering by pointing the 400D down on the floor and attaching the lens.

Hope mine doesn't have much dust :)

Man, I'll never clean the CMOS myself, considering how one of my friend actually damaged his EOS1D because of that.

I just buy a new SLR Canon 30D, and after 2 weeks, i notice some little blotch. Not really dust, but maybe humidity. I just buy a 3M microfiber tissue. Now it's Ok, but it took me more than 1 hour to clean and check after each passing. So, I will buy Eclipse et PecPad, (+ a sensorsweep for fast outdoor cleaning).

A rather risky job indeed and I know I will eventually have to clean my 400D at some point, but not now since currently I keep it very clean. And the automatic cleaning feature does help.

Funny that you mention this. Today I just took 400 pictures on my old Nikon D100 and... there were five or six big splotches of dirt on every picture. Cue 2 hours of i ntense photoshop work.

But I would probably never clean it myself. I'll just bring it down to the service centre, considering how small Singapore is.

I'm a little slow lately; I'm trying to help with some last minute shopping. Anyway, thanks for the link on Canon Service Centers. I had been trying to find the one in Osaka.

Enjoy your weekend! I guess you will be heading over to World hobby Festival. Looking forward to your post.
