I think the stairs were at too steep an angle...by the time the robot came up to step its knee was up as high as it could go and was suddenly supporting the entire weight on its own...dont blame Asimo! Blame poor stage designers! T.T Rest in peace Asimo!

Great, flash movies! ^_- Ooooooooh, Asimo fall down, go boom! ^^; Yes, the staff trying to cover it up is the funniest part. A little like a cat falling off a chair and then looking around as if saying, "You didn't see that". Sorry for being confusing yesterday. Everything doesn't feel bunched up with the new header. ^^; I often learn from reading comments, so I hate to see you delete them. Then again, maybe it saves space if you remove older comments... Thank you, I usually use the hide/show switch when I look through older post.
I've seen Asimo demonstrate the "stairs climbing" act in my country before. He sucessfully climbed the stairs, but he was looking to the front, not like in this video he looked to the right. Asimo is 52kg heavy, it's not easy to pick it up without helps from few guys.
i for one welcome our new robot overlords, at least we know their weakness.... STAIRS!!!
Human Being is in a constant state of balancing act using the entire body. The fall can be attributed to the lack of spine to enhance balancing, and the lack of toes for firmer grips.
Forgot to say this, the clip does reminded me of how Robocop escaped from ED209 in the first Robocop movie.
Cast a model but make it anime figurine-like (moe) That would allow Honda to make some quick money :p
Production Cost for Asimo $1,000,000.00; cost of rickety stairs $95.00; camcorder $795.00; taking a video of Asimo falling down the stairs... absolutely priceless! ^^
btw Danny, I just realized that you changed the header. although I personally liked the old one better, the new one does make it look cleaner and a lot less heavy. I guess it just probably needs a bit of getting use to. ^^

It's weird, but i feel very sad. It's like I saw a kid falling down. Does my feelings consider a robot and a human kid on the same level ? Weird...

Ah, poor Asimo. He(?) is such a klutz right now, and doesn't even have a function to get up by himself. Maybe he would have a brilliant career as a comedian/clown. ... Huh, it's not Honda's objectives? (Just kidding) I'm kind of sure the engineers were a bit depressed/crazy after witnessing that... It's a bit like a failed rocket launch after all. And Danny, I think that things are just great the way they are now. The new header gives such a lighter feel to the site, and I don't think posts should be moved somewhere else. Please don't change anything! Just keep updating us with crazy events or merchandise from Japan! You're doing a great job, keep it up!! -People, don't forget to vote!- ;)
That has got to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen. It must have been seriously awkward/embarrassing. I wonder if they even bothered to continue the demonstration? It sounded like it cracked his face up real bad.
