I watched a documentary at television talking about trains in Tokyo and those girls. I was first suprised to see how many people get in those O_o. Taking the train must be as challenging as entering those little glass cube that contortisonist use in their shows.

where i live, we have something called "skytrain" (it's up in the sky~~ almost like monorail). it's usually vacant most of times, but only a bit packed in the mornings and afternoons, so ther is no need to "wave for the sky". and almost no problems of perversion or whatsoever either.

Eeh... not much happening on the MRTs (Mass Rapid Transports) of Singapore. 'Course- mornings are a squeeze, noise is not a factor, but pretty much every train ride is uneventful save the scenery.

Well there is little to no public transportation in the part of the US that I live in...except taxis. Riding that train looks like it sucks, however, if you gotta get some where then you gotta do whatever you can to get there and remember Danny keep your hands of those girls ;)

I geuss i'm lucky not having to take a train that often, but if i have to, and its packed, i usually wait for the next one. But the trains over here in the UK are reasonable, but you always have to put up with annoying "chavs" -.- Personally i would rather walk, but i geuss that choice is not always possible...

I agree with Arekusu, getting the train here in the UK is usually allright except for the 'chavs' - If you're taking a long journey, the scenery is usually pretty nice too ^_^

Danny, i've been reading your blog lately. I am just not participating on any topic so far. Well this will be my first comment. (great site btw) In my place, train is the main transportation. It only gets full during the rush hours. When people go to work and students go to school, the train is so pack, like you wish u don't have to get on to get somewhere. I don't mind standing because i'm used to it, but the annoying part is that you could hardly breathe.

@[ Ash ] it's Mass Rapid Transit :P and it usually looks packed because people are too lazy to move the carriages further away from the escalators.. :/

What makes the train ride in Chicago bad, is how rude people are. They'll take up two seats with their packages ( or Even wider a#$.) They'll block seats by sitting on the aisle seat and blocking the window seat and my biggest pet peev cell phones! Why have a conversation on a train where you have to scream to be heard! I really wish something would happen in the atmosphere to render all cell phones useless!!! Before you get on you high horse and say "Maybe it was an Emergency call" Forget it! What kind of Emergency call can a 14 year old girl be getting? Well thats my rant for the day!

Trains in Seoul can get quite busy during rush-hours or late at night (people stay out later here than in Japan I think...) But even then, the atmosphere is generally quite pleasant. Perverts just wouldn't stand a chance here ~ if there's something going on everybody will have their say about it unlike the Japanese who seem to want to avoid any kind of involvement ... There's a lot more to say about train life here, because it is quite fascinating ... but there isn't really the space ~

i was just in tokyo about 2 weeks ago, and i saw first hand how insane a rush hour train can be. i took the chiyoda line to shibuya from nezu station @ around 5:30 pm. i had this one girl pressed on my chest, and i was basically breathing on her face. and she thought nothing of it. and i think my ass might've been groped since it was like a melee in that train car. btw, keep up the good work bro! your site kicks arse!

wow, that is terrible. I thought here in Washington Metropolitan Area metro is packed during rush hour, but I think Tokyo is winning on that. ;D its good o know about two hands, good tip for the next time i'm in tokyo's metro. though i still want to ride it. :D

When i was in tokyo, I found the trains to be ok there myself. I traveled the major lines (mainly maronoushi and ginza) at around 9am (rush hour) and they were full, but not unbearably full. The politeness and courtesy of the folks on there made it more tolerable than UK trains are when theyre packed. Hows about making a video to bring back old memories?

I live in a very rural area, and have never had to ride a train, hell ive never even seen one. Ive owned a vehichle since i was old enough to drive. The closest city isnt even big enough to have a system, although i think they do have buses.

Looks as packed as NYC trains. Want worse? Try bus stops near schools, especially around 7-8am. Worse things happen in buses more than subway.. I was mugged on a bus once. Lost my one-week-old Pocket PC. =

This reminds me of when I went to Japan last year. The very first day, which was Boxing Day, me and my friends headed out to Shibuya from Minowa and he got on one of the trains that were fully packed. Quite an experience for the first day in Japan. The same thing for Comiket69.

Had a pretty bad trip to Orlando and spent most of the time sick in the hotel. Glad to be back in JP but am still sick ToT A few answers.... Pick pocketing:-funnliy enough hardly any. People leave their rucksacks half open - while wearing it on their back! Trains in Seoul:-sat down in a train whilst it was empty and a man came along to blast me for sitting down. It's funny how you make it sound like the girls are usually the criminals. From what I've heard, it is usually the innocent looking businessmen who grope young girls on the trains. After all, isn't that why they have a women-only train?

at least you have hot girls in your trains, thats worthy of perving!! 98% of Girls/Cretons/Rock Gollems on trains in South Africa look like crap...As for safety, its as unstable as a suicide bomber in the middle east!! Ruffians are always on strike, carriages get burnt and vandalised!! My sister has been thrown onto the platform while the train was still in motion, just for her gold chain!! ....."QUITE SAD"...... I forgot to mention that a lot of the people on our trains have "SERIOUS BODY ODOURS"
