hey Danny, did a little research with my colleagues, they tell me Sennheiser headphones are the best headphones they ever got to use:

Though quite costly, it's worth every cent/yen you spend

RS-140

Very clear sound. even at the other end of my house!

+1

I have HDR-120 which i bought from Amazon (or Newegg?) for less than $100 USD. The range is quite good and I've not noticed any interference.

no problem Danny, my friends tell me that the sound quality they gets from the earphones are even better than what they would hear from the internal speakers of TV itself. ^^

Yep Sennheisers are great head phones, my brother has got a pair. When it comes to Lectures at uni I attend the important ones, but some of them the lecturer either speaks too fast that you get lost or the information just isn't relevant to the subject.

I agree, the Sennheiser wireless ones are the best in the consumer market range. The frequencies don't interfere with common household appliances, or so I have been told.

However, do give the Japanese made Audio-Technicas a try, they are my personal favourites! (Not sure if they have Japanese made wireless though?)

Audio Technica should be available in Japan and they make great headphones, I use them myself
but I would stay away from wireless unless you absolutely must walk around with them on often
if you work in loud environments be sure to look into closed headphones with noise canceling

It's been 2 months since red cliff premiered in my shores. Not trying to be bias.... If you're a hardcore Three Kingdom fan, you would not enjoy this movie.(at least for me)

The gathering seems to be very interesting. From 1500 to 3000 that is quite some 'renovation' XD At least you drank 5 glasses of lassi, that will cover up the extra 1500 i guess ^_^

I would prefer SAFS then SACS. One good camera is all I need. But figures? Who could resist that~

i hate meetings. meetings always means that the higher ups are giving u more work to do. sometimes the higher ups are so free they organise meetings for all sort of things.

holding a meeting within the company with your own staffs is easy cos everyone is around. but if it involve outsiders, imagine the poor fellow has to travel all the way for a useless meeting.

i'd rather have SAFS turning up instead of SACS. after sometime the cameras would loose their charm and i would be trying to sell them. the figures - all of them are cute and i would keep them with me. mango lassi - first time i heard of mango flavoured lassi. will try putting some mango flavour or syrup in the lassi next time i drink it. also didn't hear of Red Cliff till you mentioned it.

Finally after 3-4 years of different people tutoring me I managed to complete it then to be told I didn't have enough proof of my IT Skills... The fact that I worked on computers EVERY DAY for 3-4 years didn't seem to count!!

SAFS for me... though I really need a better camera...
I prefer to keep everything on one PC only. I'm not very organized, so I'd end up with dupped stuff.

Well, I spent 10 years with computers and now I'm dropping it for journalism. Wouldn't say it was "useless"... but it would be better if I didn't spent this much time in it.

Didn't hear about Red Cliff too. :P

Finally, those dinners looks interesting. I bet I could learn lots of things on those...

I kinda switch between IE and Firefox. It's usually just whatever I click first, lol..

I remember a lot of useless meetings when I was still working but they were mandatory so there was no getting away from them. I usually just try to pay attention so I don't fall asleep..

Being as I'm back in university now, I attend all my classes even if somtimes they're not that productive. You just never know, you might miss something important! The only class I don't attend is Economics because it's a 3 hour once a week lecture and having attended a couple I found them a waste of time. I felt the time was better spent reading the textbook myself so that's what I've been doing.

SAFS > SACS - cameras are more expensive and useful, but I really only need two. A point-and-shoot, a SLR, and I'm done. Figures you can't really get too many of. :P

I used to archive things on my machine, but now I do it on an external HD and keep it light. It's mainly because my primary machine is now a laptop instead of desktop to - space is much more limited for the former.

And all those networking meetings sound interesting! Always interested in your business side of things, since I reckon I'll need to do similar things eventually.

personally, i have never been in a real meeting before, all the meetings i have attended were those in college for school work, which i think pretty much speaks for itself. usually, we end up digressing from the agenda.

oh wait, unless you count all those countless meetings i had when i was in the army...

either way, i wouldn't mind relishing the chance to attend a real corporate meeting; it would be an eye opener for me really.

I've been in some pretty useless classes in school. For one course I only attended two classes at the beginning of the year and ended up with a B+. Meetings at the places I've worked are pretty important though, a lot of ideas are presented and a plan is drawn up as to the direction in which the company is headed and how to get there.

I skip my organization meetings in university mostly because they're mostly update reports, when I just update everyone on the spot via e-mail as soon as I make progress again. Otherwise I pay a small fine to skip them. Might as well do it instead of sit around for an hour and a half without any relevance going to me.

If price is expensive but you have something with all-you-can-eat/drink, you must eat/drink as much as you can until you feel you had enough for the price ^^;

The meeting seems interesting. Wonder what kind of meeting it will be when we have the meeting for readers of dannychoo.com. I think it will be one heck of a meeting for sure >_<

John Woo's Red Cliff movie I think was really great aside for the greatness. I learned some cool stuff, but also found some very hard to believe formation. I do not want to ruin it but I will say this. There is a part 2 to this movie...

WOW I can't believe you paid 1000 yen for such a measly plate of spaghetti. I'm not saying that its not enough for a serving, since that looks about right (but I'd think an adult male might eat more than that) BUT just that for ~10$USD that's a really big rip-off.

As for pointless meetings, well, I'm taking a sociology class at University . . . haha. I understand the need and relevence for the field of sociology, but the class is a huge waste of everyones time. Id really like to spend my $ learning something I didn't already know.

Hey Danny, お元気ですか。
I imported this headphones (http://www.jp.sonystyle.com/Qnavi/Detail/MDR-DS7000.html) back when MGS 4 came out. Best purchase ever. The sound is amazing. And with other game like 零 on Wii, and Siren on PS3; they make those games even MORE scarier then they are.

By the way. I'll be in Japan from Dec. 20th through Jan 3rd for meetings and interviews with FedEx. Maybe I can actually meet the famous Dance Trooper, haha

気をつけて!

I saw Chibi (Chinese pronounciation of Red Cliff) the day it came out in Hong Kong - was a pretty good show. You get all your favorite Sanguo (Sangoku for you Japanese people) heroes and heroines. The movie has nice special effects too. If some of you still have no idea what I'm talking about, Red Cliff is the movie that describes basically the most famous battle in early Medieval history. For reference, see Dynasty Warriors (rofl) or animes like Ikkitousen.

The script was pretty well written in its original Chinese format. Not quite sure how the script is dubbed in Japanese (or is it subs? the Chinese release had both English and Mandarin Chinese subtitles).

I'm quite jealous, Danny. I would love to work in Japan in something related to the animation and game industry - I'm hoping to learn directing for film and move into animation someday. Blogging sounds really cool too. :)

During my previous company, meeting with my colleagues is just like a gathering as we work at different places. We will end up joking and talking things not related to the meeting.

When attending meeting with clients, I will just sit at the corner of the table acting as if I'm taking down notes...

What kind of food were you eating at swblog? Looks yummy ^^ Was the food too spicy for you since you had to drink 5 glasses of lassi? Is very spicy food common in Japan at all?

Any chance we can get pics of the Dark Saint? I've been on the fence about her since I first saw the preliminary sculpt pictures. She looks to be the best out of the trio, so far.

Good wireless headphones would be bluetooth ones. Digital signals are either there or not so in other words there are no interferences if it's there. Specifically I've always wanted Motarola S805 Bluetooth "DJ" headphones. They're nice over the head wireless headphones and should have no interference as long as you're within range (about 15 feet).

Red Cliff might be be most awesome thing to come out of China since the Ming Dynasty.

I was in China in the summer of '08, when I saw DVDs of Red Cliff on sale in a Tesco in Shanghai, while it was still in theaters (huh). Well, although it was in a plastic sleeve, it looked pretty legit and cost only 8 yuan (far cheaper than a movie ticket), so I bought it.

Simply put, I was blown away (despite the DVD being non-anamorphic widescreen).
