Well, this post was fun to read, as for always. Beginning with the funny trivia (sorry if you're eating; btw I'm not spared as I was eating plain jam for breakfast), why vomit has corn and carrots? Maybe because they have fibre or that it's how food looks like when it is partially downgraded by pepsin? ... - My cousin tried tempura out of the blue the last time I went home and ate together at a Japanese restaurant. I ordered Gyudon myself (I know, talking proudly about it again) and never regretted it. He felt sick after eating his own meal, in comparison. ^^ - What I would spare for the terrible duo of scammers? Probably a Sparta Kick or the trouble to deal with authorities. - Oh, cherry trees in blossom... Enjoy!! - Ah, funky sloth! Never had the chance to spot one live, even if they are supposed to be present in one of the nature-themed museums here. - Finally, I can't participate in your poll, since I very seldom eat outside (making it around once or twice a month, if not less; and generally because coupons are available from time to time) I prefer to save to buy "stupid" long term stuff like videogames. And again since I have no obligations (such as formal lunches or romantic dinners), I can allow myself to do that on a regular basis. Life is cool. ^^
Seems like a pretty good week. Those ladies look rockin', I daresay. Glad to see you're getting some work in on your Gunpla; those articles were what brought me here in the first place.

Does the Ikea in Tokyo sell Swedish meatballs? We have it here at the Melbourne one and it's quite nice. The new air cleaner looks really nice and not too intrusive. For a moment I thought it was tiny like a Netgear wireless router or something but then I proportion it in my head with those figures you put on top of it. ^__^ My gf also has really bad hayfever as well and she takes a dose of Telfast almost every day. Nagasaki chanpon looks like vegetable stir fried noodles? Katsu Ochazuke looks and sounds really yummy... I want to try that. My favourite McFlurry is the oreo one. Don't know how it is in Japan, but we have this squarish looking spoon that I found out just recently that they stick to a mixer to mix all the bits into the soft ice cream! We usually eat out on weekends. And I might get takeaway during the week at work if I don't feel like or don't have leftovers.
Today's UK equivalent of Mr Byrite's closing down sale is ironically the shoe shop Dolcis, but this time it could be for good...But I'm sure that's what they said if I try to remeber a few years ago. There also used to be the on/off closing down sale from sports shop Sports Direct/Soccer Direct or whatever they named their shop but it seems like they're here to stay. Wonder if they sell any Swedish meatballs over in Ikea Japan? Mmmmm....May go out and buy some but such a long way away. Never knew there were umbrella parking spots anywhere in the world! Wow!! The udon and the ramen look so tasty that they make me sooo hungry.. Almost spoiled my appetite when I saw the 'vomit'.. It looks so gross that I don't want to ever eat it even if it's free.. Wait. Did I see correctly? Ikea's food is cheaper than at that chicken rice restaurent in the Akasaha post! In Singapore, it's the other way round. That ticket system is pretty good to prevent anyone from denying their bill, but you'd wish they'd focus less on the money and more on the food instead. That chess dude is probably getting a fair bit of money; I've never heard of a chess game ending in 3 minutes! There's plenty of tasty food this time round, but the Kara-age, in my personal opinion, looks... well, maybe the oil was too hot or something.
Yoghurt helps hayfever eh? A lot of people seem to say that but nothing about adding honey. Guess it works ^^
I wanna go to TAF too, and I hope it's not gonna be too crowded on Saturday.... The Sakura blossoms are nice^^

Is that raw, unpasteurized honey you're taking, Danny? I'm not sure if the 純粋 indicates that or not, and can't make out much beneath it to read, myself. I've just recently been gulping down a couple of tablespoons of local raw honey in the morning and evening and it does great things for me. Allergies, breath, you name it. The pasteurized stuff just doesn't have the same miracle-effects--nor is the pasteurized stuff edible by the spoonful like the raw stuff is. I thought the keyed locks on the umbrella rack was funny. In Japan, you can leave your cash, keys, and computer sitting out in the open, unattended, but you can't leave your umbrella out of sight without lock and key! I wish that were a joke.
Whos the Primarees girl in the glasses? i'd like to take those off and get a better look at her eyes... hey Danny the trains you take , are they the A.I ones? or operated by a driver? and that air cleaner , is it available online? , it's already Autumn here and going to be crappy winter soon and that Jamaican is still there with the Australian Flag.. someone should tell him to take it off.. I rarely eat out but me friends and I sometimes get together after school and eat out at McDees or PizzaHut... LOL @ the dish which looks like vomit, unfortunately for you Danny it tasted like vomit too... Note to self, never ever order Nagasaki Chanpon when you eat in Japan... The "my father has canser" dude is a con man right?! And why is the McFlurry in japan different from ours in Singapore?! And how is the first question I asked connected to the second?!
I have to say it would be nice to go out for lunch and dinner here, but everything here seems to be either not healthy, or overpriced. In japan theres soooo many places to go and eat food, healthy food, and it tastes good. And its cheap. Wish we had that there.
Being a ronery ryugakusei (is it the term for international student?) I eat out everyday. Well, that and also for the fact that cooking is not allowed in this studen hostel. >_<
I cook dinner most of the weekdays, sometimes weekend we eat out, but eating out too frequently is costly =_= and not to mention greasy and MSG laden o_o; Example a week of groceries is around $100 (plus/minus, depending on if we buy meat or random household item which happen to run out) a more expensive steak dinner can cost $80CAD for 2 o_o, fast food for 2 around $11-13CAD ^^;;;;
PS: the ikea food looks goot! (is that a strawberry cheese cake?!?!)
That Nagasaki Champon looks nasty - I suggest you try Ringer Hut instead. The karaage however looks delicious!
I usually try to eat at home in order to save money (and buy more figures!), but worst come to worst I would eat out. I want that cute mushroom plushie under the table!! I'm addicted to cute plushies ^^. When in Japan, I found the system of buying a food ticket from the machine and then passing it to the cooks is very efficient. Wished they had such a system here. Best part I love about it is that the food comes very very fast. I remember when having lunch one of those small eateries in Asakusa, there was only 1 guy on the job, collecting the tickets then proceeding to cook. He was so efficient at it he could make 11 orders (the crowd just came in suddenly) in less than 3 mins. I was simply amazed at it. This is what I really call fast food!
Oops, vote the wrong one... =P I eat up around 2 times a week. Saturday night after fellowship and Sunday afternoon after Sunday worship.
since i'm out working for the most parts of the day everyday i can't help but eat out on a daily basis... wish i had more time to cook to bring to work though...
About Jamaican Chess Player. That man was in Milan (Italy) the last summer. And he do the same thing in a street of the historical center of the city. He had the same story about his father... So i don't think that's is true...That's incredible! This guy is my idol! He go around the world without money with this trick!
I'm told that the "carrots" in vomit aren't actually carrots, but bits of the innermost layer of stomach lining, which gets torn off in the internally violent act of chundering. Not a particuarily pleasant thing to discover, but that's life. Now go to the Idols section to get that image out of your heads. :D
to be honest. I would rather eat out more often, not that my home cooked meals are bad or anything, but I prefer the "get outside" atmosphere and enjoy my food. I do envy your lunch/dinner meetings T.T and the food looks good except for that vomit dish...
Nice picture from the train. I usually get motion blur :( But there is an odd thing about it. The picture is taken in the right track and the last time I checked JR drives in the left track (the signal indicates the same) so isn't it the rear or the train rather than the front? Another little "issue" is that if you click on the picture it's named "A Week in Tokyo 9". It's not really important but it would appear that nobody else noticed this yet. Also the distance to the next train is surprisingly short (but long enough for ATC to ensure that the trains will not crash into each other) @Hyun-Bin All trains going to Akihabara uses drivers. I can't be sure of which line Danny uses (I can't identify the specific line based on the picture) but odds are that it's a "normal" JR line.

Every meal or every day i eat out. Saves having to concern myself with the recyling days in my building ... and seriously it's so cheap to eat out every night in Japan why wouldn't i?

I usually take a backpack and a carrying bag when I go to Comiket. I do want to buy as much as I can but I do not want to overdo it and end of dying on way back... I don't like McFlurry because it's just the normal ice cream with some M&M or cookie crumbs mixed into with some mixer. USA McDonalad started making iced coffee and that might be pretty good, taste doesn't seem that bad and price is reasonable(half the price of Starbucks).

Most of the time I eat out when I crave for a certain type of food that we don't make at home. And most of the time it would be japanese food. I just love japanese food and just can't get enough of it. ^^
it depends on my mood and the limited finance that i have ^^;; but usually i eat out with my friends at least once a week ^^
i'm this days in Tokyo and the other day I saw this folks playing chess but I don't understand those cartels. Really japan is full of strange people Japanese and gaijins too jejeje

I usually eat my Lunch outside (well... with a 45 minutes commute, going home isn't really an option :) but sometimes, I take along leftover from dinner or a microwave menu. Too bad that I don't have much choices here for food where I work (it's a small-ish town outside of Zurich), with only one restaurant in 10 minutes walk distance. As for dinner, I usually eat at home. When my flatmates are around, we cook something. When I'm alone for dinner, I get some takeaway on my way home, or order some delivery food. Cooking for just one person is too much hassle.

I eat 2-3 times a week mostly because I moved a couple of months ago and am still buying stuff and learning how to cook. But just today, I could make the most basic plate in brazilian cuisine... rice and beans. Well, ok, no vegetables and a slice of meat makes it incomplete. On first pic: Powerpuff girls rock? I liked the set on Katsu Ochazuke... makes me remind of onsen sets. My kingdom for an onsen! About that umbrella locker, when I still had a blog, I remember posting a pic of that (without umbrellas) and offering a prize for anyone who could guess what that was. That price... I kept it. About the train sight... I was surprized when discovered that same thing. It's an interesting view indeed.
Thats the swankiest air cleaner I've seen, all it needs is a big apple logo in the middle. Currently in my room theres a huge grey, battered metal kerosene powered gas heater thingy with a huge rusted metal grill on the front. All that needs is a Dell logo. Funny coincidence I just went to one of those pay before you eat restaurants today with my host bro.
I thought: "I need an air filter" but I didn't know they existed. My room fills with dust in 2 weeks.
Hey it ロボぴちょんくん on that box! I need to get a hepa air cleaner. My fiancee has a hard time during hayfever season too... I'm not eating out as often anymore. Spending way too much time by myself. I hate to eat alone... My desk is starting to look a lot like yours Danny. ^^; It's started to change a lot since I returned to college again. I guess doing more code has changed my typical work flow. Under the desk is looking the same. I really wish I could better organize my cables. I have lots of DVDs waiting to be moved into storage binders. Karaage is one of my favorites! I always think of the Southern All Stars song when I eat it now. ^^ It's been a while since I ate Katsuochazuke...
The meal ticket vending machines are good. I first found one at the Musashi Noodle House in Nishi-Shinjuku 7. But it would be <b>better</b> if I knew what I was getting when I pushed <i>that button</i>. ;) [Whatever it is, it is only ¥850.]
