I sought to try out
Skype to see what the fuss was about and was very curious about the "great quality sound". After trying out Skype to call land lines I thought to myself "aha, the person on the other end of the phone who sounds like they are gargling in vomit must be what they refer to as 'great quality sound'...". I really did not see what the fuss was about.
Then came along
Gizmo which I tried out but was again totally disappointed - I added $10 US to my Gizmo account and it took over a day before I could use it. Was there any point in developing crap like this?
Skype in this area does a better job - once you purchase some credits it is instantly available for use.
The conclusion of this post? 1. Skype still has a long way to go in terms of sound quality but it is better than nothing. 2. I would rather have nothing than use Gizmo.
