In order to distinguish themselves from other eroge makers, some of them have been doing interesting things with promo material. For example, you can download promo material used in shop posters together with transparency enabled PNG files from the site for ChuxChu Idol (click on the "download" link in the left column).
The makers of the up n coming eroge Oppai Baka (meaning erm... "Boob Baka" (Oppai(おっぱい)means boobs)^^;) have been doing something rather interesting with their promo material too. The picture you see is some promo material featuring one of the girls from the game. The chest area is made of soft squeezable material. There is a sign attached that says "Feel free to squeeze all you want!" (Image from Akibaos.)
"Momi-houdai"(揉み放題(もみほうだい)) means to "squeeze as much as you want." Adding the word "houdai" on the end of a verb means to "do as much as you want" (of that verb). So for example...
To eat = Taberu(食べる(たべる))。
To eat as much as you want = Tabe-houdai(食べ放題(たべほうだい))。
To drink = Nomu(飲む(のむ))。
To drink as much as you want = Nomi-houdai(飲み放題(のみほうだい))。 You usually see "Tabe-houdai" signs outside some shops meaning that you pay someting like 1,000 yen to eat as much as you want.

I am too shy (!?) to give it a go, and you never know, some guy in a Darth Vader suit may run up behind me with a TV crew and ask me how it feels... Personally, I think they should make the rest of the body in 3D form much like them candy girls...

With my luck lately, I would get caught and be in BIG trouble! ^o^ It comes as no surprise the eroge is outdoing idol. Slowly over the last few year it has become more common to find it just about everywhere. Before you had to look in the right place and the right shops. Heck even idol stuff has taken on a more eroge look.

Lol. Yeah, I would cop a feel... after I checked the place to see if anyone was looking. :3 But yeah, doesn't surprise me that the eroge business is doing better than idol. It goes the same for here too. o.O But yeah, if it was at night, I'd steal the thing rather than feeling it. XP

This is great promotion! >=D I am quite suprised to here that the Eroge business beats the Idol business. Learn something new everyday i guess. What would be funny is to see one of those soft chested cutouts in a store and a qeue developing to have a free squeeze.

Hehe, thats a brilliant way of advertising =). I normally only get my games based off popularity, seen I can't really see any advertising, other than online, from here =( I wish amazon.co.jp would ship eroge, I would buy so many more then, but seen I have to go elsewhere, (but order my usual manga etc. from amazon) it makes it too much of a mission, so I only buy the games if they are amazing.

Quite inventive! Strangely shaped chest though. I dread to think how grubby she will be after all those Akiba kids mess with it... The Oppai balls in Lammtarra are 'momi-houdai' and are in a right state ;^.^

Funny, original way to promote an eroge. Complete translation would be boob idiot (don't ask me what it would mean). Haha, Danny, teaching japanese in this context. Nice, keep it up! (But what about you? Would you try? Myself I think my morals would prevent me from doing it... cultural background?)
