Been waiting for this day for months. The MacBook Pro that I had before belonged to Microsoft and I had to give it back when I left. Since then, I have been using my PowerBook G4 which is painfully slow. I'm surprised I managed to develop on it for so long ^^;
MacBook Pro (click to enlarge)
Now I need to partition the drive and restore the system image I took from the MS MacBook that I had.
I got the 15 Inch 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with the glossy screen. 160GB.

Since I switched to Mac, I have been a religious user ever since. Its quite funny actually - during my 8-9 years of using Windows, I used to think Mac users were odd people and could not understand how people got anything done on a Mac.

For me, there is no going back to win. I enjoy using a Mac but never "enjoyed" working on Windows. Mac is also unix based and the dev environment is the closest to what dannychoo.com is running on.
When the Mirai Inc offices open in Meguro next year, all the office machines will be macs and dannychoo.com will switch to being served from a Mac too - cant wait.

Yuukanalia on the desk in the background reminded me - I still need to take pics of her. Shes such a cutie. Her wings fell off by the way ^^; In the meantime, you can feast your mince pies on Super Rats gallery of her.

The closest I can get to a OS X platform is getting a *ahem* copy of it and installing it onto my PC. Too bad the drivers support for it isn't that great yet.

I need to grab one of these MacBooks in the future! Been kinda sick of using windows for the past 13 years ^^;

I've been a Mac user sin 10 yo and never understood why Win users were so ofuscated not to try to understand that you could actually enjoy using a computer.

Your web catched my attention but as soon as I saw your figures and Macs it became my home page in Safari ^_^

Keep the good work!!

i like mac's UI. the docks are cool..the best so far I could get as close to a mac is not installing an *ahem* copy(wish I can soon), but use a win theme that has that mac look and have a dock running at the bottom..

I use both win and osx since the field I'm studying in requires both. Yet, I still prefer win over osx for general usage.

I don't mind Macintoshes, but damn I hate their TV advertisements.

One other benefit with the new
Intel Macs is that, if you must,
you can still use Windows.
You can boot into Windows (XP
or Vista) via Boot Camp or have
it within OSX using Parallels
Desktop.

I got my MacBook when it came out last year, and contrary to most mac users, i hate it!! T_T it has an auto-shutoff problem which only arose after 6mths of usage :S and when i installed the new firmware upgrade which was supposed to fix that bug, it crashed halfway through installing and spoiled the main logic board!! T__T Total repair cost about usd$800 :s am so glad its under warranty ne~

Still prefer Windows though.. i'm always using windows via bootcamp on my MacBook, heh. *lol*

I have to work on a PC all day long. Which is why I like to come home to my Mac. It started life a s a B&W G3 350, but after some mods, it still runs very well to this day. I have owned it for almost 8 years now, with very little money spent on upgrades. I'm running OS X 10.3, use Flock, PhotoShop, Illustrator, and couldn't be happier. That's why I'm a Mac fan. Longevity. During the same period, My friends and family members have at least rolled through 2 PCs a piece. I plan on replacing mine, only when it dies.

Eh, Mac is stylish and all, but Windows and PCs gets the job done for me. Not that I'm saying Macs suck (though I do say that quite often) but Mac does not do what I need; Windows and PCs do.

As a side note, I live in the Philippines, if you ever need anyone here :P

I started out on a MAC SE and have not used anything else since then (privately) but I think that Apple has sold out its soul. don't get me wrong, I love Apple - I have sold, supported and I fixed Mac computers as an ACSE in various Apple stores for quite some years and was known to be an Apple evangelist - and I would not use anything else but an OSX at home, but since Steve decided to really milk Apple for what it is worth and to become the next Sony, it is just lifestyle gadgets for the masses. call me nostalgic but I miss the pirate flag above 1 Infinite Loop -sigh- still, good choice Danny, I hope you have fun with it! cheers.

Someone hear a childish noise? No I didn't thinks so too...

The new Core 2 Duo Macbook Pros are nice machines. I just wish Apple would give us more graphics memory. Know you will be enjoying yourself, new computer is always nice. My dream machine is a Mac Pro.

I can't imagine using anything other than a Mac as my primary machine and OS. My productivity is much higher and work gets accomplished with less hassle. Of course I still use Windows since it's what we have at the office. It also easier to make sure things work well for my Windows only friends.

Really, this do-or-die militant attitude about Mac or Windows only exists for the Press and...well...those who haven't grown up yet.

im so jelous. i still dont think apple use a good design principle tho."we need a design for our new product" "lets make it white with curved edges" "wow, that sounds original"
personally, i dont think apple can be called cool if everyone thinks so. vaio's and asus' are much prettier.

having never worked on a mac until i got to school i've got to say that i love em. most if not all the other students hate them for some reason or another.. but as long as macs have the programs i use for animation and compositing (which it runs better) i prefer them 100% of the time. only hting i hate is itunes.. such a useless program in my eyes.. windows media player edges it out by a electron..epecially in organizing songs.. he he

I see a lot of comments about MS using/having a mac in their offices. This is a common myth that I hope would break in time. It's not actually surprising that a lot of people in microsoft use mac computers. :D

I'm a pure windows user myself but I've always wanted to try out OSX. The last time I tried a mac (forgot what OS it was) about 4 or 5 years ago I wasn't totally happy with the experience. But I'm willing to buy the new macbooks if only I had the budget for it and if they put in at least a decent graphics card. Those built-in intel chips just doesn't cut it for me. ^^
