Got the armor to a wearable state and went out to give it a test drive. And theres me thinking that Vader was going to be much easier than a Stormtrooper ^^;
Vader beats trooper hands down in terms of difficulty!
The leather suit ensures that you become a walking oven and the heavy helmet ensures that you cant see as the lenses steam up in no time ^^;
Anyway, time for some lovely cold udon to cool off.
But despite the difficulty, school girls seem to like Vader as much as Stormtroopers ^^;
There were quite a few in this place lining up for pics. School girl uniforms in Japan look so much better than the ones back in the UK.
Took photos with just about everybody in the restaurant ^^;
Using the force to open an automatic door...
Colonel Sanders gets a bollocking for growing alien chickens.
Need to improve my photoshop-lightsaber-effect ^^; That Force FX Lightsaber is awesome.
Vader needs his regular dose of Tachiyomi (whats Tachiyomi?).
Photographing Vader is tough as there needs to be a lot of lighting in order to see him! No lighting and all you end up seeing is a dark blob like in this picture.

Will post a how-to-dress-up and review of the parts and how I modified the suit to be wearable.
The armor looks respectable from a distance but some of the armor looks like it has been chewed on by a dog - photos and details soon.

Now I need to modify the armor more based on the test drive. Shoulder bells, cape, cod, Saber holder and shoes need mods.

Leo,
The quality is better (kind of) but the seller did not mention that the helmet was not supposed to be worn until *after* the helmet arrived.
I'm rather miffed as you can imagine and will document everything so that others don't go through the same experience. What is it with people who sell armor @.@

Oh, I love the last picture, the salaryman's going "What the?! Vader?" while the 2 ladies are thinking "Ignore...ignore. He can us his force against us" ^^;

Vader would have to be harder to cosplay as cause of that big cape. But, then again it is easier to be major dramatic cause of that big cape.

Guess you had fun eating that udon... Hopefully it was a cold one.

Hahaha, Darth Chooder vs. Colonel Sanders.

I also suggest LASIK to get rid of contact lenses. It should help (or install some cooling system ^^)

Ah? armor defaults? Hope it wasn't as serious as for the Stormtrooper one.

Have fun!

Yeah 'cause where I live there is no school uniform at all. Students aren't used to wear ones here in France, that's not common.

The Darth armour is ace from the pictures seen so far,even if it does need modding. I remember the really long storm trooper video you did with music in the BG. Maybe a Darth Vader one too?
And school uniforms in the UK suck in general. They all look exactly the same and use extremely disgusting colours. Although you may get the occasional posh grammar school in the country where the girls where ribbons and hats =_=

Hmm, I guess it comes as no surprise that Japanese schoolgirls like Vader. He has a very powerful and enigmatic personality. Of course I'm sure that having Hayden Christensen playing Anakin Skywalker has absolutely nothing to do with their interest. ^o^

Many of the private schools here have uniforms. I guess a few have Japanese girls attending them since I see them from time to time. Although, only the Japanese girls look cute in the uniforms... ^^; Then again kawaii is more than a word to Japanese woman, it's a state of mind. Hmm come to think of it, I have never seen any pictures of my fiancee when she was in school... ^o^

I tried wearing a Vader costume in my younger days. I went to con, got many compliments, but sadly it is too much trouble. By the end of the day, I was breathing like Vader, also, I could hardly see and fell down once.

Awesome Vader pics!!!

Well here in PR, all schools have uniforms, and most of the time, the skirts are incredibly, incredibly short.

Trust me, they are short...I should create a blog, or reopen mine and post some pics???

"School girl uniforms in Japan look so much better than the ones back in the UK", i guess it look better than in everywhere else (at least better than here).

And about "School girl uniforms in your region..", it depends of the school (but usually good body, not that good face, still, a good amount of gorgeus girls).

Good cosplay Danny, i only hope you don´t end up doing a princess Leia cosp XD

 Must be hard to eat no ? :p

 I prefer this one than the stormtrooper ^^

 Sadly another proof than Japan is great , if someone try to do this in France , he would get - insulted , hit by can or stuff or get arrested in like 5 minutes ...

 You should try to cosplay as a gundam , like Destiny with the wings and stuff ^^ i'm sure it must exist in Japan :)

Lulz awesome Danny.
Theres a school nearby to where I work were the entire uniform is a pale Lilac / Pink one piece.
Quite the spectacle when you drive past the trainstation or bus stop after school and there is a few hundred of them - a literal field of girls in pink.

You forgot another poll option: no uniforms!

I wish we had uniforms along the lines that authority in schools changed to how it is supposed to be. Being independent I believe each person should wear what they want, even if that means wearing something that I don't like. I am all for school uniforms though! If we could change what they represent.

The vader suit is shiny! just as captain malcolm from firefly said, it looks a lot better than the stormtrooper one.
About the school uniform one, depends on the school^^. Skirt/trousers + shirts are like standart, ties, broches etc. exist too. All these things also depend on the selection of the school, so uniforms here have a lot variety, but they're not as good as the ones in japan for sure.

Nice lightsaber effect, I would like that you use the lightsaber in other situations, maybe a little battle with the stormtrooper (poor trooper, hehe), or aid in aerial traffic with lightsaber moves hahaha¡.

And the schoolgirls like more Vader, maybe 'cause the girls love always the bad guy, don't think so? use the force vader... ¬¬

and...I think that Chewaka could be also, lucky with girls...XD
