Don't really know about armored core. the mecha do look pretty god though and the kits are amazingly detailed. might think about getting some in the near future.
mm well if we're talikng about the same armored core serie, it's possible to swap some parts between the different kits to build your own mecha, which is nice cause it opens the door to extreme customization....
Yes I am a HUGE Armored Core fan, since the first game for the Playstation. Those AC's look fantastic, thanks for bringing the pics =). The games are a lot of fun, and I always enjoy building my own mecha.
I have been a fan of the armored core series since the original playstation ones. These all look really awsome. :P
I saw screen shots of the new Armored core for the PS3, they look fantastic and would be one of the games I would buy if I had a PS3.
the silver painting looks kinda cool..reminds me of GSC alloy tachikoma
Been playing Armored Core since Project Phantasma back in 1998. Addicted to the series eversince but I haven't bought any AC model kits for two reasons: first, they tend to be more expensive than your average Gundam model, and second, they always sold out fast in my local hobby store. (-__-") The PS3 version is more of a strategy game? Don't think so. That impression sounded more like Armored Core Formula Front for the PSP.
I played that series a long time ago and still a fan of it starting from the first series of Armored Core until I stopped playing this series recently ending with Armored Core: Nine Breaker. BTW, their model lineup is fantastic. But I don't want to buy these model kits for a while.
Never really liked Armoured Core. As you said Danny, the action took way too long to happen since it takes ages to fine tune your mech and for me, when the action did happen it wasn't anything mind blowing. The kits look nice though.
I love the designs for the armoured core mechs. So detailed and unusual. Makes a great change from gundam stuff. Ive never played the game, as japanese robot games dont really appeal to me due to the laziness of flying/ skating everywhere rather than stomping mightily around cities. Zone of the enders was ok though - the mechs in that had really nice, sleek designs...
the armored core series is a marked difference from the usual gundam and other robot shows; it reminds me of mechassault and the battletach series.
Mech designs are nice. THey have a realistic style to them which is nice. But its a refeshing look at mech other than GUNDAM. Heard there was an AC tornament in Japan for PS3. I Played a bit of AC on the PS2 but i find the controls a bit clunky dun noe but thats me feeling. But I prefer playing Zone of Enders
I've never played with the armored core games. But the mecha design looks very agressive and like real killing machines. It's very different from gundam mechas. Maybe I should try it...
Armored core was my fisrt mech game. After awhile, kinda got tierd of it. I wonder if it improved on the newer consoles
I LOVE the AC designs....infact I have one of the kits myself (the one in the second picture) and am busy Building a CG model version of it myself :P
I like the mech designs but I hate the games... the controls have just sucked for the ones that I have played on the ps2.
Love the game series, building the kits right. I have completed 2, currently building the and have almost all the other stuff. The only drawback of the models are it tiny-itsy-bitsy parts that are really tedious to build and sometime can be quite frustrating. Other than that, it's a great kit series for those who wants a more challenging kit to build.
good looking mecha indeed ... havent played any of the games though!! By the sound of some of the comments ... Im not missing much!! Id get a kit if I could though ...
armored core is great. i want more
the only mecha game that i find the most fun out of. planning on getting the Y-01 Tellus model by january 7th XD big news that Armored Core 4 Answer is coming out this 2008 of March
i have never played the game but i like the mech design. i heard from a mecha fren the model kit is very detail to the small parts and has alot more parts then the MG for gundam for a complex AC model kit
i haven't play it yet, but indeed, the design is preety cool
I want to get one of these figures sometime, as I am a die hard AC fan.
i wish they would release the ac designs sooner from ps3
There are quite a lot of AC model kits out there already http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/list/1011/0/1
I got one of those kits :D the second image...got that one. Really cool, no glue is really needed for those kits...or paint for that matter, but it does enhance the overall appearance of course. thinking of getting another. or some weapon kits (the weapons are interchangeable between some kits
Latest in the series is AC4: For Answer? If i'm not wrong? I did give the AC4 instalment in the series a shot, a little too much emphasis on the mechs IMO. But the models sure look kickass.
Armored Core is a great game to take out the PS3's strengths :O (high polygon rendering power, low texture processing power) Those kits look incredibly difficult to construct.
The AC mechs always struck me as something Skynet from the Terminator movies would build to annihilate the human race. I think they look pretty cool, though a bit too "real" for me to put them up there with some of my other favorite mechs.
I'm addicted to Armored Core. unfortunately I haven't been able to play the games anymore. :(
I've played Armored Core: Last Raven and Nine Breaker both were pretty fast paced but the customisation level got daunting after awhile.
The kit in the third picture looks like it would be fun to apply Gunpla skills to.
