Time for more Verses shenanigans.
You are going to be stranded on a dessert island (again) and can only take either your favorite figures or Gundams - which will it be? This time round, instead of Candy Girl Ai, you have Jewel Rosa to keep you company instead.

I'd have to go gundam, at least you can pose them/swap parts instead of a static figure (I like figures too). With regards to the new figure.fm I dont mind either way, as long I can share photos of my gunpla collection I'm happy. But would we need to re-register? Also will you be recruiting new moderators? I feel could help since I frequent figure.fm alot.

I would have figures on the island, but if you devote the site entirely to figures, there's really not going to be much going on. Sure, you get a whole bunch of shots of your collections and a few photoshoots perhaps. However, it wouldn't be too much that you haven't already seen. Also, you discourage excessive promotion pictures. When gundam are there, there are quite a few modelers that build gunpla to make it interesting. I would rather not have the seperation.

Its hard to chose. But if you let me choose I would say that my tatamae is figurines while my honne is Gundam. I guess that the audience between figurines and gundam are different. One is more of the pretty moe genre and the other is the more kakkoi mecha genre.

I dun mind helping out as a moderator for Figure.fm though most of the time when I'm there I'm always a lurker. =P

I guess I would give more favor to figures (male or female by the way). Why?
Simply by the fact that to fully appreciate a Gundam model, you got to know the series well (or at least one part of it) and I never really had a chance for that.

Otherwise than that, I don't really get the whole idea. You would like to make Figure.fm a figure exclusive but what about here? Will you drop that part in this site (I don't believe replicas of the same article would do...)?
Personally, I feel that the variety found here reflects your tastes and choices (and you got full control over it! ^^).

Jewel Rosa? Not interested. Really. *Runs away promptly with a freaked out face* (Pavlov's conditioning example?)

I'm pathetic, I can't decide... ^^;

I get enjoyment from admiring my figures but I can always play, err, reenact battles with all my Gundams.

Hmm...there are a lot of figure sites out there. Many function as building techniques and showcase forums. Would you incorporate that into Figure.fm as a figure only site? I think it would be a good move, Gundams here and figures on Figure.fm. Sorry no ideas right now... >_<

I wish for both of them as I think Figures and Gundam are prefer by all the members in Figure.FM. Some may focus on either of them, but some like all of them as u can see some members post figures & gundam model kits together.

This prove that both of them are equally prefer, not just one.

If possible, I wish to become the moderator for Figure.FM too, my name is same as appear here, I.J

In my honest opinion, the idea of having two separate forums for Gundams and figures is a great. As it stands its difficult to skim through Figure.fm efficiently because of the clash between the content. However, I am pleased to say that I actually prefer Gundams more than figures because most of them (HCM Pro, HG/MG/PG etc.) require some form of construction/modification before they are enjoyed fully. Figures on the other hand are just as expensive, usually built (this excludes resin models), and serve no purpose in displaying actual "physical" devotion or skill in that niche genre. I know I'm going to be under fire for this but the notion of buying a figure isn't really something to be "proud" of since there is really nothing you can do to them (that is unless you are a collector who refrains from opening the packaging and extracting the contents).

Cheers,

While I definitely prefer figures, I don't visit Figure.fm much either. I typically just follow the updates on Hobby Search and Toys Logic. But I don't mind adding occasional Gundam reviews to this site either.

Bottom line: As long as the occasional figure photoshoots don't disappear from DannyChoo.com, I'm as happy as a boy pilot in his well-synchronized mecha :)

OOHHH tough question that one cause I like both ^^ my first anime merchandise purchase was a gundam then I started with figures and now I have more figures than gundams need to acquire a new gundam. I like gundams cause I always liked to build these kinds of model kits and more cool is that they don't require neither glue nor paint (paint them if you want). Figures.... well figures are for anime fans and art lovers, some of the figures that I have I didn't even knew where did they come from just bought them because I like how they were made.

I would also be torn between both. They both fall into many of the same categories I would use to compare why I'd prefer one over the other.

If it came right down to it though, I might have to go figures. Only due to the diversity of the figures (Many series/many different looks).

ditto 'Matt in Hong Kong'.

As much as I love those big eyes, most nicely crafted figures are non-posable. To alleviate some of the boredom when stranded on a deserted island, I choose posable Gundam to help keep me entertained, until I am rescued by a boatload of beautiful beach volley ball players of the opposite sex.

Hey Danny/Anyone else who lives in Tokyo, japan.

I'm currently looking for a Bandai Gundam Action Base... however, I don't really wanna buy it online... I'm just wondering, does anyone know where I can get these retail? I'm looking for one for my current project, the MG Strike Noir, and well... I just can't find any :P

So if anyone knows a store that sells these retail (preferably somewhere near Roppongi/Shibuya... but if needed Akiba as well.) please tell me where it is/what its called, and perhaps a site or directions :P? Thanks.

Figures or Gundam...

Hmm... tough one, but i think i will have to go for figure.
At the end of the day, for me figures are about the process of building it (since I only get resin kits) while Gundams are more about the silly poses you can put it in after you build it.
and aside from a couple of exceptions, figures are much easier on the eyes than gundams and you don't get bored of looking at them quite as quickly.

I want gundams on my shelves. btw Danny i like the idea about making figure fm for figures and this place for gundams. dont get me wrong. i like figures too but 1) i like building things 2) i like the posability 3) i think they look cooler.

I'd choose to bring Gundams. much more fun to build then if I get bored of them I'll probably mod them with bamboo twigs and pebble rocks. ^^ about moving gundum stuff here. I think it might be better to leaving the gundam kits posting at figure.fm. although another option is to open a gunpla.fm. ^^

I still find it hard to make a definite choice and don't think I ever will. ^^;

I really want to make time for building more figures. Like Gunpla, one has strong feelings of accomplishment and satisfaction when completed. No offense to anyone, but I often get the feeling that many think figures are not complicated to build.

I would definitely stick with Gundams. Like a bunch of people here, I do appreciate both and I do have both, but recently, some of my figs are 'leaning' and I can't really do anything about it whereas if it was a Gundam, I would be able to mod or fix it. Pus, there's something satisfying abt building n customizing one.
i think that u should keep it the way it is coz it gives us a nice variety of things to see n know of.

>>BTW, I would be interested in being a moderator for FFm. I have the same name as here, DaysFlow since i basically keep it as my main site i check. + it would be great to watch the Gundam section n such!
