While taking my morning dose of Gunota, I click on "Super HCM-Pro RX-78-2" expecting to see the new 1/144 scale line looking pretty much like the HCM's up until now - cheap plastic looking. To my surprise I see a rather sexy RX78 with a ton o hatches n weapons.
Have Bandai gotten rid of the cheap plastic look associated with HCM's or have they just beefed up these promotion shots? Its half the price (5,347 yen) of the metal fix figuration that came out recently and looks like it has more mobility.
Lets say that the paint work is excellent - would you give up making HGs?

Holy c***, I wish they would've made all the HCM Pro's look like this!! I need a moment to change the ol' shorts. I must get this even though I'm not this biggest fan of the RX-78-2. Stop throwing stuff at me. =)

damn that looks good. hopefully all the HCM's of the future will have that much detail and look that good. Maybe then i will consider buying one.
Anyone else see Death Note episode 25, i haven't read the manga but why L and Watari. WHY?

I personally do not like RX-78 because it's too plain and old. However, I admit that the detail is pretty good. I don't build HG's if I can help it. If they made a murasame MSIA, I wouldnt have to buy the kit...

Also, I'm not about to start collecting 1/200 scales. The Destroy Gundam seems pretty nice with the height, but it lacks the scary impression that you get from the anime.

That certainly looks awesome, but I did a quick search for it on HLJ and they list it at about 6,460 yen.. that seems a bit steep. Especially at only the 1/144 scale. It certainly looks better than the current HCM's but average price on those is about 1/4th. Certainly not quite as detailed, but much more affordable. And I havn't bought many HG's but I remember then being pretty cheap and just requireing a little more work in the build process. I'm not sure what niche bandai is going for with these... replacing the FIX series? For this price I'd like to see them more in the 1/100 size range. If they did that I'd be pre-ordering. Good find tho Danny, thanks!
(there, hopefully i managed to talk myself out of ordering this one for now)

For the RX-78-2? I don't think I'd pay that much, but give me a Super HCM-Pro Victory Gundam Type 2 (with Assault and Buster parts), Freedom Gundam, Strike Gundam (with all 3 Striker Packs and a Skygrasper), Nu Gundam, Gundam F91, and/or ZZ Gundam (with full docking and 2 core fighters), then count me in!!!

All,
If the site is looking like poo, force refresh your browser cache.

Idolfan,
Was doing some major updates just now. Everything should be OK now.

Superoshi,
Saw Claymore this week and will be having a look at Heroic Age soon.

KCA,
I write my own software using PHP and MYSQL.

CyberSynaptic, Gorblatt,
Does cost much more than the normal HCM'S so will see what the quality is like before I buy.

No Danny, the site doesn't look like poo at all!
That is, unless poo is your cup of tea. In that case, get some new tea, I think yours might be spoiled.

Noticed the little changes on the site, especially the upper part.

This Gundam looks awesome, this small and so precisely detailed at the same time (I tend to be picky on that concerning figures, even if I don't own any myself). Seems to me like a good investment for all RX-78 fans!

Thinking the same about the HCM-Pro and HCMs in general. I think I want a closer look at this RX-78 2.

I don't think I would stop building HC; probably would build fewer HC. I don't always have a lot of time for HCs. T^T

Changes you made look nice...

This is really superb. just the price is a lil bit too high to afford. But anyway if someone really wants it that bad sure they dun mind ti dig out some. It's good that the size is 1/144 so that it can looked more detailed. Love this.

well, i bet this new 1/144 series would only have the popular models which i either bought a mg/hguc/gff already, so i guess this wouldn't effect me a whole lot =D

dont believe I misD this post .... I think it looks wicked, I dont think Id give up building models though!! Theres a satisfaction one gets from building them ..... and if U are on "DEMON LEVEL" at modelling, then modding a HG or MG to look better than that shouldnt be a problem .... wicked RX tho Danny ... =P

Although this is much better than HG's, recent ones have been improved with 2 joints in the limbs, and the Super HCM-pro line-up is pretty expensive at over 100 bucks where I live.
