Taking a short break from the Wonfes stuff to bring you these pics of Musha Gundam that were released by Dengeki Online yesterday.
Not too sure but I think Musha Gundam originally appeared in an SD Gundam series a while ago. This version has been revamped by none other than Katoki and appears in Gundam Musou that was released yesterday. According to the Dengeki article, this Musha Gundam is not playable by default so I guess you need to clear a round with particular circumstances or something in Original Mode.
Having a look at the illustration, I bet this comes out as a GFF in the future...

Read the Japanese reviews on a few blogs and most of the feedback seems to be good so I went ahead and placed the order - should arrive tomorrow. Will take a video clip and review for you sometime next week.

Wonfes coverage continues tomorrow.

Strangely I find that a funky combination and I like that samurai Gundam because it is exotic...

But surely the primary idea/game system from the Musou series is unchanged... Reminds me of what the Megaman, Castlevania, Street Fighter and King of Fighters ones have been throughout the years (bis repetita with really minor changes), (even if I'm an absolute fan of the series mentioned above)

OMG that gundam looks soooooo cool!!!!!!

Its like a samurai and a gundam all mixed into one, how cool can you get?! They had better make that intoa a model kit, becuase i want that!

And why are there never any gundam games like that on Nintendo consoles? >_

for those that have played the samurai warriors series, doesnt that remind you of Yukimura Sanada. It looks ok but not the best ive seen by Katoki. i loved the musou games dynasty warriors and samurai warriors i cant get enough of them. hopefully gundam musou will be gd as i have yet to play a decent gundam game since battle assault 2.

IIRC, there shld be ard 3 full scale musha gundam designs that came out together with the SD, that was almost 20 yrs ago.

Anyway Gundam Musho is a pretty surreal game in the sense that its pretty funny to see so many mechas "wondering" ard in such close proximity (wouldnt it be kill one and all die in a chain explosion including self?)

Thats pretty damn cool!

Nice to see a different looking gundam design. Suits it rather well.

Surprised you havent already got Mosou - its meant to be a million times better than the gundam game that launched with the PS3..

i think its trying to hard to be cool, i like suits that make me think they might be possible, like a zaku, leo, and even the RX-78-2

i like the style kinda but its not my cup O tea

I saw the SD model before...and it looked cool, therefore, the full-scale design looks double cool!

Its one of the best ideas i have ever seen.
its kinda like a back to the roots idea if you consider that the rx-78-2 gundam is inspired from the late samurai armors.banpresto is going to release the musha gundam and the zeta musha gundam at late august but as prizes only.. damn..
oh danny i found out that max factory is going to release the karas ninja figures but its uncertain when..

That's pretty neato. It looks so out of place, though. I guess its SD form just wasn't enough. =P

errr... not sure about this Gundam. I think the samurai look will be better off for human being, not in mecha.

There's something about the look that bugs me, i don't know what it is, but definitely there is something =_=

I don't like it, too much armor, which i think is so worst & ugly. But may give credit due of the creativity, even is already been used in SD gundam long time ago.

A Gundam design that will have fans divided into 2 camps. Personally, I do like it as I alwyas had this thing for Samurai armour.

On another note, I really like the idea of making some of the SD Gundams into full-scale models.

Finally a Gundam that doesn't look like a rehash of every other Gundam that has come before it!
Very creative and a nice twist to an otherwise "tired" mecha!

That suit looks alright, but it seems to be more melee, hopefully that machine has some sort of balance to it...

@Danny,

Musha Gundam is holding a magari-yari (or 3-pronged yari/spear) on one hand and a Naginata (or a katana-tied-to-a-10-foot-pole, as I like to call it) on the other.

The difference? Yari is used for piercing, while Naginata is used for slashing.
