WF 2007 Winter - Cosplay

Wonder Festival coverage continues with the cosplay. Went in armor Last time but found it difficult to take pictures so decided to go in plain civilian apparel.
The usual Gundam cosplayers were there but this time round it looks like they upgraded their creative skills – this RX78 in particular was rather cool indeed and seems to have much more maneuverability than their previous attempts.

Also including images of the halls so you can get a feel of what it was like to be there. Will be working on a feature to build event calendars so that you can time your trip to Japan to coincide with these events. The next event I'm due to go to is the Tokyo Anime Fair - see what it was like last year.

Also a quick thanks to bloggers who introduced my Wonfes coverage. Unique users for yesterday alone was about 16,000 generating over 60,000 page views. The top 3 referrers where Gunota Headlines, Japanator and Kotatsuga-san. Thank you all ^^

Whoa, you're right that RX78 is decent ^_^ Gouf girl is quite good too, but based on her getup she should have tried for an MSGirl look instead of the full works. And that Hazel is simply astounding, though it doesn't look very poseable...

The Briarios one is good, and the girl in the purple leotard thing looks pretty cool.
Nice kamen riders and gundam cozzies - are you gonna get one? Its more Japanese than Star Wars!
Good coverage. Too bad you couldnt get any better pics of the bunny girl. Looks like she was surrounded by rabid, snap-happy otaku!

I think the girl Gouf is cute and the RX-78 looks cool. Is that a Abyss Gundam costume behind the RX-78?

I had to laugh when I saw Freeza from DBZ.

This is the first time i think the Rx-78 cosplay had been making so good, compare to other mecha cosplay.
& I had to admit that the AppleSeed that cosplay is look so alike in the anime.

I'm always surprised at the level of cosplay in Japan. The RX-78 and the Katamari cosplays are so awesome.

i lurved the gundam cosplay. it must be hard to do though, because most of them are blocky are not easy to maneuver in.
The Hazel unit was my fav. :)

Gundam cosplay is total muvaf**king awesome danny thanks for the great coverage. ^^'

but it would have been nice to see some of the guys go as Wing Zero Endless Waltz Custom Ive not seen anybody wear that costume. I suppose it would be pretty expensive after all the time & effort let alone cost & quality of materials that have to be used...

more cosplay girls also would have been nice :) cheers danny

"Life for you"... Yes, it certainly is for all true otakus. ^-^

The Gundam RX78 suits are a tad disappointing when you can see the trousers through...

I smiled when I saw the RGM-0.79 costume. Now THAT's original.
Then the Frieza one... Legends don't die, do they?
I also noticed the Servbot/Kobun's head (Megaman/Rockman Legends).

What's the fuss about that bug spray character with a tie and giant virus ball? I think I heard of it but forgot soon enough. Any details?

I don't think you should give up your otaku side, it is a part of yourself, and we would lose a lot, just like not being able to have a glimpse of the Wonder Festival accompanied with crazy comments that only you can give.
