Mirai Suenaga

Thanks to all who came up with naming suggestions for our new mascot character. Many of them were good and the one that nearly made it was Chu-tan (Chu meaning "kiss" in Japanese). The suffix "-tan" however gives the impression that the person is young - *very* young.

After thinking about it day n night and during important meetings at work, I decided to name her Mirai Suenaga.
Coming up with a name for a character is tough as it has to sound decent, have a meaning and for people to find out about the character easily, there should be very little search results. After an image search for Chu-tan in Japanese, many pictures of cats showed up! BTW, a search for "mirai suenaga" or "末永みらい" (her name in Japanese) brings up zero results in Google.

"Mirai" ((未来)みらい) means "Future" and is also the name of my sole proprietorship in Japan which is the beginning of my future company. BTW, I will be writing about how one can set up a sole proprietorship in Japan so that people on working visas can go about doing business here.
"Suenaga" (末永(すえなが)) means "Eternal" and is also used in a sentence that couples say to each other when they get married. They devote themselves to each other.
I want to devote my life to my future and make sure that everything I do everyday makes a contribution towards my next goal of starting up a company in Japan.
So there you go! Lots of meaning to her name ^^;

I have set up Mirai-chans page where you will find some banners of her – feel free to use them. If I notice you driving traffic to my site, I will return the favor and link back to you.
You can find the image in this post in the wallpaper pool but it looks a bit rough as I threw it together in excitement after I decided on Mirai's name ^^;

Good job Danny! Nice name, never would of thought of that. "Eternal Future" you say? Not bad. Not bad at all.

It's funny how name's in japanese have meanings, european names have no important meaning, great choice on the name.
By the way I think I know what Danny Choo means, it means BRAINWASHER, lol just kidding

Wow, you surely took a lot of attention on finding an original name, and it sounds great.

*Chuu-tan eh? Looks at the pictures of the superstar neko and laughs*
You wouldn't want your mascot being confounded by name with them, would you!
Yeah, I also agree on the fact that it sounds a bit... underage.

All those great ideas in a chain... Say Danny, how much time did you rest and sleep lately? I wonder where you get all that inspiration, too...

Wonder what your wife and Azami-san thought of the name.

Anyway! Good going. I hope to see Suenaga-Chan more often on the site!

Now she is complete, she has a name. You created a great name too. After all, just can use any old name that comes to mind! ^o^ She going to have that name for a long time to come.

Cats... Somehow that doesn't come as a surprise. I can't blame you for want a unique name. Can't have Mirai-chan getting lost in a crowd.

Will be looking forward to that post on setting up a sole proprietorship. I've give a great deal of consideration to my own business. I'm seeing demand in several areas that could yield a good return.

Hm, my mascot name is better! Tri-penile mango man, shortened to Tripeman. Concise, catchy and can be sung along to. Lol, pity it requires parental guidance.

Very nice. Future congrats to you concerning your business in Japan, if its as hard if not harder to set up a business in Japan then in the USA then I have best wishes to you. My impressions that there is going to be a lot of paperwork and policies and rules you would have to follow in your endeavor.

Joy to Mirai and her baby-shower into this digital plane.

Nice to see her finished, and that she has a final name. I still kinda prefer 'Chu chan' because of its simplicity and catchiness, but Mirai will stick soon enough. Intresting meaning behind the name - i didnt realise all that stuff.

Still makes me think of Mirei-san though!(i want that figure soooo bad!)

Looking forward to seeing what youre gonna end up doing with her on the site.

Huzzah, as it has been said, "She'll be complete when I think up her name" or something like that. I got no problem with your name choice. Perhaps Chu-tan (as derived from Choo-tan) can be a nickname?
Anyways, a welcome to your new mascot and best of wishes towards your future, and yours, and yours, and, yes yours over there, you, you, and you... There's to many people you've got reading this blog; it's very hard to pick, point and wish... XP
