I gotta admit, ive been a little behind with my anime the past year or 2, and I only recognise about 10 or so on that list. Haruhi's characters did pretty well though. Including them so high up is a little unfair considering its only been around for a year or 2 though. Nice to see Rei, though i thought she would at least be in the top 10 - rei must be the most 'figured' character ever!

Animage has been doing that for ages. Way back in the '80s when Tokuma Shoten had ties with Miyazaki Hayao, Nausicaa and Claris took turns at the number one spot for more than 12 years.

im not too surprised those who made it in the top 10 are there... altho lelouch?...code geass is still too new a show...i wudnt hv guessed he'd be #1...i think its a bit premature... i think its still too strongly influenced by current popular anime... i mean there arent too many "classic" characters there...nothing from X,Eva didnt come close to top 10 nothing from any other Gundam stroylines... its nice to see DGrayman up there...

I don't know why, but I am surprised that Puchiko isn't on this list. The same goes for Madoka of "Kimagure". Other than that, the list seems about right.

Considering that most of the people who voted are probably "new blood" in the anime scene, this list doesn't surprise me at all. I actually agree with it for the most part.
Where the hell are the totally awsome Fist Of The North Star (Hokuto No Ken) characters? Even stupid Shin Asuka made it to the list. Kenshiro comment on the top 100 list: "You are all dead already".

Well, finally got it right. It was cookie deletion that deleted the previous comments, I think. Maybe or maybe not, but anyway, I'm up and running on your site! ^^ My site is still being tweaked....people may find a lot of differences as I change stuff around a LOT! thats a good list, while its not in English I still see some familiar characters. I'm glad Gundam Seed Chars made it up the first 5. Have you seen the 1st American Anime Award? You vote online for that one.

I have a very old Animage from the 80s & they did a very similar thing back then. Funny how the #1 back then was Nausicaa! Nice to see the 'old girl' is still in the running, even if she is 25th T_T I do have to say though where is Priss & Motoko Kusanagi! O.o Must be showing my age...
Is this really their top 100 anime characters? There's quite a few that I think should be in there which aren't included in that list. Surprisingly though I know about 80% of the characters in the list. Got me thinking about how much time I've spent on watching anime. o_O
