Finally got my copy of the recently released "Gundam Seed Destiny Federation vs Zaft II Plus" - quite a mouthful for a game title.
Looks pretty much the same as the arcade version with missions and extra mobile suits thrown in for good measure.
I've only played it a few times and have been using my fave Seed MS (Destiny). Maybe its because I've just been playing the arcade mode but felt that there wasn't enough variety in attack moves.
The game play graphics are smooth and the mobile suits look decent but after getting used to playing around with my PS3, the graphics kinda look bad - a bit like comparing PS1 graphics with the PS2.

The game play is decent with music from the anime which should put you in the "Seed" mood and you can watch the trailer at YouTube and find other movies of the game at the official site. The files are WMV but Mac users can rejoice as VideoLan have released a new version of VLC that supports WMV.

I like games where you can kick or shoot somebody or be up to speeds of 300MPH within 2 minutes of turning on a games machine - this game falls into that category. Zelda for the Wii however does not fall into that category and I'm still riding the horse trying to chase sheep into the barn ^^;

Unless you play this game COMPETITIVELY (It is the #1 arcade game right now), Otherwise...you will fail to see the potential of this game.

In fact, since we cannot get VF5 outside of Japan for arcade, Seed Destiny is really, the next best thing!

The amount of teamwork/cost factor/ balanced gameplay is really great. Great Engine that really encourages player cooperation.

A very good step up from the already excellent Seed Arcade.

Try the P.L.U.S. mode, its a LENGTHY campaign mode, eith different rrquirements in each mission. It follows the Destiny story, Shinn is the main character (and you will see StrikeFreedom and InfiniteJustice destroyed and Destiny ok). PLus you unlock movies (like MS launching but in 3D) and if you use other characters enough you can gain an additional picture with that character smiling and being really happy. Try it

i kinda liked the game's improvements from its first installment. so far whats keeping me stuck from progressing in PLUS mode is that tri-stars mission wherein you have to take down two dom troopers, two bucues and one lagowe in a span of 180 seconds - and the AI is set to evade/run away! its so annoying!

This game is great! Has good story mode and good arcade mode. But what makes me angry the most is they didn't bother to include Bleu Duel and Verde Buster from Stargazer! Strike Noir is nice but Stargazer Gundam was a piece of crap! I could of done without the extra Black Ash and the other big bots that look like spiders and had the other Stargazer Gundams instead! Heck even a Cerberus Hound would of been better!

How goes battle mode? is it the samething as #1? where u select pilot for yourself and your nmes and stuff?

Looks impressive from what I've seen in the preview videos that were available on the official site. Makes me want this game even more, just for the fact that it deals with all the destiny/seed MS's rather than just the seed ones. But does it play on the PS3 danny?

I am playing this one from yesterday and i really like it a lot, it's really fun but sometimes frustrating. Good variety of models. Other game that I'm expecting is Mobile Ops: The One Year War for the 360, it looks very cool, you can go and fight as a pilot on foot to enter in the suit after that and battle in a big way.
Someday in 2007.....

I've gotta do stuff to my PS2 before I'm able to play this game, but I'm really looking forward to it. I think I prefer playing any anime-inspired game in it's native Japanese language instead of the localized "North American" versions with the crappy voices and name changes and the such...as long as it isn't very dialogue heavy (so Japanese language RPGs are out of the question for me). I wonder when they're ever going to have a Gundam game where you can stay "in-flight" permanently. From my understanding, you can only say in the air for as long as your "thruster gauge" has power. I think a Gundam with extended flight time would be awesome.

I hate gundam games. They are just so pointlessly repetitive when it comes to attacking. It gets stale after a few minutes.

The only mecha games I enjoyed were Front Mission series and Armoured Core series.

I have been a big fan of Gundam for many years now. And I have tried out most of the US released Gundam games. However, after playing them, and then playing Armored Core or Zone of the Enders, Gundams feel clunky, obnoxious, like trying to manuver with a dead elephant on your back. I have never been able to cope with it. That's one of the big reasons why I want to play ACE2, it's a game with Gundams, and it's made by From Software, so I'm hopeful that they do it right!

I watched the YouTube video and it looks pretty sweet, especially the footage of Strike Noir. I've only seen the first two episodes of Stargazer and wasn't too impressed with the mecha until I saw it in action in this game. I was thinking of getting the ps2 fighting game with Gundam SEED robots in it but I think I'll get this instead now.

It is a good game to say. Strike Noir is probably one of the best MS in the wntire game, rapidfiring beam pistols are great and you can split-target with them.

this is the BEST fighting genre for gundam I think.
As for strategy their latest game Spirit, already have a place deep inside my heart..

Their newest fighting game Gundam vs Gundam will make an UC series vs Alternate universe series. Hope that a lot of MS will be there.

Currently hoping that they will make it for PS2.
