Tomorrow is the 11th of November. To you and I it means PS3 launch day but did you know that its also Pocky day?! Pocky day has been recognized as a memorial day by the Japanese Memorial day association since November 11 1999. Japanese year formats are still being used in Japan and 1999 was Heisei 11 thus you get 11/11/11. And all those ones lined up look like erm Pocky's...
So what does that have to do with this rather cute idol? Well Yui is Pocky's current campaign girl and you can see her dancing around in the current TV commercial at YouTube - you can also see her running around in a bikini and school uniform.
Folks in Japan can get their grubby mitts on her photo books and DVDs at Amazon.
I was going to post this tomorrow but hopefully what you will see instead are pictures of the band new spanking PS3 - and lets hope it does not die within the first 20 mins from overheat. Will also bring you the fun and games from the folks camping out for their machine around Tokyo tonight.

Is there really such thing as a day to celebrate Tom Cruise in Japan? I read it up on wikipedia and it said that on October 10th 2006, it was declared that because he happened to visit Japan a lot more than his fellow stars in Hollywood. Cheers,

!!! PS3 o.O!!! sry, but i am still a zelda fan at heart. yes, nintendo repeatedly screawed me over again and again with the delay of the twilight princess, but i still love them. however, metal gear solid is tempting me greatly towards the ps3,

you're probably gonna have to use a wide lens for the PS3 line. ^^ I wonder if you could tape a "I already have my PS3" sign on your back while taking those pictures. ^^ pocky.... mmmm... I haven't had one of those for a very long time. :p~

Yea...shes very nice. ^_^ I can't wait to hear your report on the PS3...im very woried about Sony's prospects in this console war...I have to be, I AM a Sony fanboy afterall... Anyway I don't think camping is that big of a deal. I mean I didnt have the money while they were pre-ordering Wiis but I do now so im gonna have to camp somewhere to get myself a Wii, lol :P
