But yeah, it's always nice to have people interested in managing your life (sarcasm :P). The second post is just hilarious. It's been a while since I've read something that is as incoherent as that. Isn't "gook" a racial slur that refers to Koreans? - No offence to Koreans. Actually I love Korean culture. Love your blog/site by the way :) keep it up.

Ah yes, the people who like to manage the things you do Danny. They never cease to amaze me and entertain me at the same time! These are the kinds of people that can't stand others cause they're so different from everything else that they feel they should do the "right" thing. Like managing Danny's marriage! For those who sent the hate e-mails. Five words for you: LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT. A lot of people enjoy reading this site. This site gives us anime fans and japanese toys fans an idea on whats latest in Japan. Since I personally cant be there in Japan, Danny's site gives me the opportunity to enjoy what Japan has to offer. *maybe next year I can see it with my own eyes*.

you know Danny, sometimes hate mail is a good measure of success. you'd have to be somewhere high up for someone to want to put you down. ^^ they try hard to find some points to attack you at, but often time they just end up looking like a ranting lunatic. lol. I guess that can only mean that you're doing something right. ^^ although I must say, it's great that you have such a positive attitude on this. its the attitude like you have here that gets people farther up the ladder of life.

This is my first time leaving a comment here. I have been following the discussion on your website for the past 3 months and I must admit that I really enjoy myself here. I get to see things/events/images which I would never get to experience it for the next 5 to 10 years. It was wonderful of you to share your experience with all of us who are interested in Japanese arts and cultures. I think that you did a good job by being just yourself, doing what you love and sharing with one another. Just disregard those hate mails, you never know that deep down in their heart, they may be envy of your achievement as they could not do what you have and tried to mislead you away from the path of truth. Do continue on with your blog as you are bringing wonders to other peoples life out there including myself. Thanks again and I wish you and your wife all the best in your endeavour.

Sorry to hear about all the crap youre getting, but you seem to be taking it in your stride! Nice one! All those people are simply frustrated. They need to criticize your life or to give you some "good advices" because they don't feel as well as they may say in their own life... Poor frustrated people... What I've been learning with your website Danny is that you can have a good job, a beautiful woman, friends and whatever you want, and in the same time you can live with your passions and hobby without worrying about what people may say. Those frustrated people just can't do that, and that's why they don't understand you, and finally they hate you... Poor frustrated people... ;)

Respect your general honesty, which is what I think offends people. You say you like money, you say you like idols and pervy figures. They must be thinking how can he get away with it and not be some sad loser without a wife. So they attack you. Also some are just plain ignorant.
I visit everyday, but this crap just compelled me to post. As alot have said, its simply Jealousy and envy. I just never knew how funny they could make people seem! Because they usually just seem pathetic in my eyes.
There are probably two main reasons why you get hate mail and most Japanese culture bloggers don't. The first is popularity naturally. The 2nd is scope. Because you also talk about other stuff beyond otaku culture, people who are not into it stumble upon your site through google, forum links or other avenues and are turned off. My own site has almost exclusively nerdy visitors lol who share the same mindset. It's also easy to flame when the guy got himself all covered up with the mask of internet. And finally, your new avatars rock. The old ones blew.

This is a classic love and hate relationship, they both love your site (hence they keeps coming back) and hate it (hence the hate msg), it wont be long before they develope split personality, poor soul. on the other hand, althought i like the new icons, i also liked the old ones as well, so can i suggest tht we get to choose from all old and new icons?

Great job Danny.. I read your site everyday. I'm addicted and my shrink thinks I love you. Anyways, the haters are just bigots (I actually looked for the correct spelling of bigot, unlike the bad spelling-haters). My shrink thinks the first one must have wife issues and the other one has to be part of the KKK. By the way, my shrink likes Otaku and thinks you are great too. He says he likes the website, but I see how he constantly checks the beach pics. Politics aside, those haters are probably the only 2 people that voted for BUSH are currently unemployed and got left by their wife for a successful Chinese man.

I definitely can see how having such a wonderful, cool and understanding wife will make some envious. It reminds me of how supportive my old girl friend was when I was studying in the States, as she used to tell me, "It's better to be spending money on Gundams than bad stuff like drugs."
