日本語/Japanese  Tue 10/10 21:17 JST
Happy Moe Day! Today is (un)officially Moe day. Its the 10th of October in Japan today which is written as "十月十日" and when those compound characters are put together you get " 萌" - no I didnt make this up - have a peek for yerself ^^;

Anyway...
For Gundams that you can actually own, I didnt think they came larger than the HY2M...
Some folks decided to take this paper kit of Gundam and enlarge the parts sixteen times to create one huge RX78. Doesnt quite look 1/1 scale - maybe its 1/2?
Have a look at the source of these pics to see more assembly and final shots of this 'model'. They mention that it was built for an autumn festival competition and all that remains now is the head as they threw away the rest! They should have auctioned off the body - Im sure somebody would have bought it. Probably would look great outside yer house. Even without the head, you could have it posed in the headless-gundam-shooting-upwards-at-Zeong ^^;
Thanks to ellcy90 for the great find.

i agree with the 1/2 thing, compared to the scene in the original gundam where Rx-78-2 was on the trailer to this, this seems so mcuh smaller. plus you can't fit a person in the cockpit of that thing, it would be more like a gigantic armour.

Le Dude Modele in Toronto
The final scale of this hugh Gundam is 1:3.75. The original movable paper model that they used to base upon is 1:60. and they used a projector to blow it up 16 times. Therefore, it 1:3.75 scale.
When it stand up, it should be 4.8m (or 15'9") tall if the original paper model and the people involeved are accruate.
Sorry, I was sober and I did the math.

The head looks rly accurate but everything else has the proportions distorted. All the huge versions of a gundam always have distorted body parts.

Its definitly a kick-ass project if one finds other like-minded folks to help with the build.

Would be rather difficult if someone made a Big Zam to the same scale...
