Hmmmmm. I just realized how bad these shots were after uploading. I wrote a batch script which uses the exif info to rotate, resize, watermark, upload and insert the gallery info into the DB so I dont really look at the photos in detail until they are uploaded ( I should really ). Compared to the Melissa pics, these look quite crap. Not too sure what it is - whether its me, the camera or the lighting. Probably me ^^; Anyway, I've uploaded the pics so may as well show em to you.

This was my first Japanese figurine that I ever got. You may recognize her as Fujiko Mine from Lupin. Got her at Sakuraya Hobby Kan down in Shinjuku 10 years ago for about 5,000 yen at the time. ten years on an shes now woth a grand total of about.....
5,000 yen at Yahoo Auction^^;
Her suit is removable and zips up to her neck and you get a 2 pairs of hands, boots and bare feet. I only took this angle because I think she looks a bit odd from other angles. If I can remember correctly, this is the first version of Fujiko that Medikom brought out. They've brought out a few more versions but the quality has been rather crap - especially the [[117.Ver2]] which was a disappointment.

I should have known you where a Lupin fan too. ^_-  I never have seen this figure before.  Thanks for the pictures.  It comes as no surprise this figure is worth that amount now.  I think Fujiko has always been a favorite for most anime fans.  Wish someone would grace us with a new figure of her... Hope hope hope... ^^;

Danny here is a site to check out when you have time, www.tabletopstudio.com A lot of the information will be things that you already know. Most important it will leave you thinking, hmm... what if... For me, that is half the way to finding solutions to photographic problems. Hope it helps.

Sup Dan. I was wondering what you thought about the Sony Alpha 100 DSLR? I tried finding a way to just email you instead of commenting, but I must be blind.

But yeah, I work at Best Buy here in the U.S., so I get a pretty good deal on stuff like that. And the a100 is basically at the top of my list. There is also the new Canon XTI (400D), but i've heard not so good things about the lens it comes with and i'm looking for something good right out of the box. The Sony also has an Image Stabalizer build into the base, so that's a huge money saver later on in the purchase.

But yeah, if you could reply back with your thoughts, that'd be great. If not, I know you're a busy man and it's cool. :D

Chase,
Sony Alpha - Have not heard of that model over here. Are you talking about the new SLR from Sony?

Edward,
Thanks for the link ^^

Henry,
Because it takes a long time to take off ^^;

Could it be lighting? Plus the pose and color on the other figure is a lot more interesing then the black suit and static pose. Maybe you should consider building a small photo studio just for your figures :)

Danny,
Yep, that'd be the one - www.sony.com/dslr

If you're not familar, know any other cameras off-hand I should take a look at? XTI-400D is really the only one catching my eye.

Chase,
Im not really a fan of Sony (do a search for "Sony Timer" to see why.
But As a mac user, liking mac products is kind of the same ^^;
Anyway, I do like my Canon Kiss even though I still cant use it properly and I dont think I would go for anything else anytime soon.
