HY2M

The humongous HY2M was on display at Chara Hobby along with other 1/12 scale red, green and silver Zaks. What I didnt know was that the HY2M comes with a remote to control a ton of present Gundam type sounds like the vulcan cannons, explosions and farts. The eyes light up too and this one on display had some coolsome decals - which probably come with the kit.
Folks in Japan can get theirs for a laughable 315,000 yen at Amazon. If you're ordering online, bear in mind that it weighs over 35Kgs.
Here are the jumbo parts that come in the kit. Not as detailed as I thought it would be - the hand for example is one piece. Hmmm. Coming to think of it, the hand that comes with PG strike is also one piece. Coming to think about it more, I would definitely get this if it was wearable armor instead.
Only saw poses with the arms and head in different positions - the legs always seemed to be in the normal standing stance. I would be surprised if it could do the kneeling or adjusting underpants pose.
The people who set up this "diorama" should probably be shot in the kneecaps.
You probably saw a ton of news re the RX78 but did you know about the 1/12 scale Zaks too?
Now the question has to be, if you had the cash, would you get one of these or a Candy Girl ?
First time here?

I would probably use this rather than the faceguard ir to protect my gundams. lol. imagine someone opening the door only to have a giant robot pointing a very big gun at you. that would probably scare the living daylights of any intruder. But then again after that he’d go right ahead and steal your precious 315,000 yen HY2M. ToT maybe I’ll just go get a dog.
about getting this or the candy girl, if you're really loaded, you should probably get both. it would make some interesting poses.

And the Candy Girl references return. Heh, that Char Zaku is sweet. It probably won't ruin my chances of getting married as much as the other option, so I'll go with that.

Otherwise, both wins.

Also: the HY2M 1/12 scale Zakus and Gundams have fixed knees for safety purposes. That's why they look dorky when they try to do any action scenes, like flying over a MS and getting stabbed in the chest. Totally lame, but only because the legs don't move.

If I didn't spend all of my money on master grades and fix figurations, I would get one of those zakus in a heartbeat, but the shipping would kill me, and since I live like half-way around the world, I'd end up playing like $500+ for shipping! Anyway, I can only subscribe to one of these-Hobby Japan or Dengeki Hobby. Which one has more gundam stuff and would be better for a person who can't really read japanese.

They will not post this one out side of Japan, it's like almost $4,000 Australian & with that weight I would bet that the postage would be that as well LOL.

Am very happy with my Jumbo Gundam but this would look soooo cool in my study, if I had a study!

I would need a Zaku to go with my Gundam. I don't have an need for a Candy Girl. I agree it's a shame we don't see much of the girls in mecha suits anymore.

BlitzZ, I would say go with Dengeki Hobby since it's mostly focused on Gundam. I don't think either magazine will be easier for you if you can't read Japanese. If you are looking for info. on technique and kit building, try searching the internet. There are many individuals and groups out there sharing their experience. That way you can save your money for more Gundam goodness. (^_-) If you have your heart set on buying a magazine; try to get to a Japanese bookstore if you can. You can often get books and magazines at a better price.

hi danny :)

i haven't found your e mail adress on this page, so i try writing here.
i hope you have time to anser my message (by mail or on this site)

i am living in austria and have a 4mbit cable connection but i will move to japan by 2007, so i am asking you a few questions:

are these ftth connections aviable in whole tokyo?

you mwrote, that you get average speeds of 70mbit/sek. i guess you mean national speed (japan).

could you make a little speed test and write me the results?

i am interested, if the ftth connections are good with "international speeds"
