This is only the first batch of Gundam stuff from Chara Hobby - Starting off with Akatsuki. Not as sexy as the up n coming GFF Kamper ( which we didnt see any of ) but is still a tempting buy.

Hey Danny, saw your pics on the PG RX-78 (Gundam + weapon anime version)@ Chara Hobby Exibit. What is that?! I was about to order the PG of the RX-78, but held back when I read your post. Should I wait? What is the difference between this version with the one that debut in 1998?

As near as I can tell, it's supoosed to be a limited edition model. What I can't figure out is how it's any different than the regular release. I mean, even the colors look the same.

Somehow I'd just prefer the not so glossy gold accent on akatsuki..it tends to emphasize the details better, although it's quite different from how it's shown in the actual GSD anime..

Ah well, just my 2cents from a guy who never follows the default color scheme of plastic model kits :P

HG Gundam Stargazer kinda looks like Fichtenfoo.com's Shinobi Strike with that round thingy on the back (his work's awesome btw)...

Of the Gundam here, I'd say the GM Sniper is above all else... tis so mean and green :)

All the colors except the red and white have been color corrected for the anime look on the PG Gundam. And it looks much MUCH better to my eyes. The yellow has more orange in it, as opposed to none. The blue is much lighter. The dark grey is much lighter and has been replaced with a greenish grey for the hands.

I really wish they would just update the colors on the standard release PG instead of making it an exclusive. Obviously they know the colors are off on the standard release. Why let that error continue?

i dont know about u guys, but i personally like normal PG gundam better, i own the normal PG gundam n ilike the deepr blue. at times it mgiht be too deep from angles but i like it better. an PG's are usually painted by ppl anyways. but my vote is on normal version vs anime colour.

Hey Danny, did they say whether or not the Cosmic Region Akatsuki will come with both Oowashi and Shiranui packs? I really love how it looks "non-bling", but if it doesn't come with the Shiranui pack, then I'll probably hold off on buying it. The FIX Crossbone X-1 Kai Kai Skullheart is gonna be freakin sweet, as well as the FIX GM Sniper Custom. So I take it there wasn't anything about the FIX Gundam X that can convert into the X-Divider and D.O.M.E. G-Bit eh? I really can't wait to see the finished product of that.

CyberSynaptic,
Not sure about the Oowashi and Shiranui packs but you know they like to stick in tons O weapons and stuff in each GFF release so could be a possibility.

Big gav + fumikane,
This RX78 has the colors form the original anime and has a few other weapons in the box too.

justin morcillo,
The event is over but the coverage will continue ^^

Keith,
Yep - the strike pearl is supposed to look transparent - for folks who like that sorta thing.

sweet! each time you post pictures like that danny, i turn green. ^^ by the way, I was wondering, does the new GFF 0031 crossbone gundam come with the old cloth like cloak like that from the GFF 0016?

It would probably be unlikely but it would be cool if the MG version had that cloak too.

Hey Danny! Nice pictures. I do have a question regarding the upcoming MG Cross-Bone Gundam and that is the height of the model. If you have seen the Wing Zero Ver. KA MG, its fairly short relative to the other Gundams (i.e. Zeta / MK-II)and I was wonder if the Crossbone would be the same heightwise (since a CB conversion kit from Core-Works was created for the Wing Zero Ver. KA).

Thanks again!

Thanks for sharing Danny! Nice pics here. :)

I have a question, I'm very interested in MG Crossbone, but is it polycapless similar to F91? I've heard that MG F91 is very fragile. Also does it have the crossbow and cloak like its GFF counterpart?

lobster,
Re polycapless - sorry not too sure. Will let you know when I get details.

NickC,
Not too sure about the height but if anybody knows the original height of Crossbone form the manga then it would probably easy to work out the height (/100).

marvin,
I think it does come with the cloak - I could be wrong...
