So you thought you would give the no-paint technique a go but would like more scans to reference too - how about these scans of HGUC Zudah?
Come to think of it - I should probably dig up the several page how-to on this technique from a previous Dengeki Hobby and give it a quick scan - lets say next week shall we ^o^

Hmmm... the no-paint technique looks great on this kit. It has such a raw industrial feel. I can see why this technique is popular.

Mike, It is "MS OGOLOO".

Actually, it is MS IGLOO. Here's the official site:

I'm still waiting to see if they've done this no-paint technique on lighter or white-colored model kits.

hey AWESOME finish! i'm amazed that you can do this no-paint technique with a 1/144... especially the zudah with so much little details! sanding down crevices is really really REALLY difficult...

REALLY looking forward to the no-paint finish guide! is it going to be in english?

I've got this kit. It's in the queue for assembly - so a few hints wouldn't go amiss ... ^^

And yeah - it's the suit introduced in 'MS Igloo' - fine series, IMO.

Sorry to take this off topic...
Has anyone ever bought one of G-System's "Gundam Head" kits? The quality of the kits look fairly good. Although, it's often hard to judge quality of resin kits from pictures.

Everyone, I apologize for such careless attention before posting lately. m(_ _)m

G-System is a company that is known to produce conversion and standalone kits of various sizes. Since they use resin instead of ABS plastic the parts do not come on runners but as the intended part with a little bit of spill over.

Over time the molds that they use tend to deteriorate due to nature of resin. So basically over time as they release more and more of the model the worse and worse it looks. (i.e. missing panel lines and such).

The first batch is usually the best looking while the 10th batch may be lacking in some detail. However you can correct them by scribing lines and such.

Lol, true gundam is good for you, working on them relieves stress. Unless you’re a dog, then biting on them relieves stress. ^_^ Cool scans btw. Makes we wish those mags are available here too.

The HGUC Zudah is really cool. Apart from the flexibility and posability, all the armaments included are wicked too, especially the huge anti-ship cannon(?) although it is not in Episode 3 of MS IgLoo where Zudah appears.

Anyway, I don't think I would paint my Zudah kit as well when I get my hands on one. The paint scheme is quite difficult for me, especially the different colors used on the shield. I'm not so confident in using masking tapes for painting that area. -_-++ So, most probably I would try out the technique mentioned in the post.
