OK, this is not exactly hate mail but its the only category that comes close.
Lately, I've also been getting mails and comments on the site that some of the content is getting boring or on their nerves. I find it most interesting that those folks continue to come back to the site though - obviously disappointed each time to find more of the same stuff.

To be honest, I think the quality went down... all those idol events : / I don't givvashit! I want intresting news from japan... it was intresting the first time, but now it gets on my nerves.
You can find that comment under FAQ.

Another one is...

I think its time you ditch that storm trooper costume, seriously. And start wearing a new one, perhaps Darth Vader or what others costumes you can think of.
Which you can find under Maid Trooper.

I dont know about you but if I thought a site was boring or getting on my nerves - I would probably make the decision not to visit anymore.

While I do try to please the punters and ask for feedback (UI and content), Its difficult to please everybody and I dont aim to as I would fail miserably if I tried - have touched on this in a previous post...

Found out that Bill Cosby said the same thing ;-)
"I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody. "

My personal recommendation for those who continue to visit the site and get a headache would be to either bookmark this site under a particular category - that way one can avoid all the "boring" stuff.
Or the alternative is to stop visiting - there are a ton of great sites out there which serve the sort of content that you are looking for and I dont want to be the cause of your headaches. Trust me when I say that I'm not going to stop what I do ( unless everybody says "no more maids!" ( for example - and only 16% of you said that ) )^o^

Fudge the people who complain. If they want important news (other than what you put up) they can simply find another place online to get it. Let them cry all they want, this is your site Danny not theirs. You took the time to create this blog, and you have always taken the time to surprise us with something new. It's your rules Danny, they have no right to tell you what content you should add to your blog.

Also, forget the n00bs that tell you to ditch the Trooper suit. If they don't like you constantly wearing it then they obviously don't respect the fact that you updated your blog just to entertain them. They think that costumes such as the one you have are cheap. If they don't like it, then let them buy their own costumes. In my opinion the Trooper costume never gets old. Trooping posts are the best!!!

All you n00bs stop telling Danny what to do. You don't like the content that he puts up, then go somewhere else. Or you can shell out the money and go to Japan so you stop your whining. Danny, pay no attention to the ungrateful n00bs, brush them off like an annoying fly buzzing by your ear.

I'd like to take this moment to thank you Danny. I have learned a lot about Japan because of you. I'm very grateful that you take the time put up scans from Hobby Japan and Dengeki magazines. Everytime you post up model pics you inspire me to better my skills at building Gunpla. Thanks to that and your tutorials, I made up my very own highly effective techiques that makes building model kits a snap!

Thanks for all the great posts/updates! I look forward to what you're gonna post next and for the future. You rule! No... wait that's not enough... >AHEM< ... Actually... you Own!!!

Well its true you cant please everyone. I mean just recently ive found myself thinking "a little more Gundam related stuff would be good" But at the same time I realise that this is your site Danny. You decide what you want to put up, and anyone who trys to tell you what to do with your own site needs to either sit in the back quietly or leave. Sure we all might want to see different things at different times, but the variety of different stuff is the real beauty of this site. Keep up the good work Danny! ^_^

All of you look at this stuff 'negative'. One important thing we should know that this is Internet. No matter what you do there is no "border". There's no definite "control". People always got something to say.

Danny, this is your website. You set all this up just to what? To let other people see right? What's the point of being informative if you can't handle your audience.

Probably the person who said that the idol event stuff is getting on his nerves because it's sort disturbing that you have a wife and why post this kind of stuff. Let's get real here shall we? I mean, it is not required for you to post it, but you do because you want people to know and at the same time to achieve some personal desires. You should know better that some folks are used to your figures, models, scenes etc but not half naked ladies.

My point is that some people give good/bad comments to improve your site. Isn't that why you include "Post Comment" here? Let's understand both side before we rant each other. peace!

Hi danLen,
Thanks for your comments ^^ You could be correct that folks leave comments to improve my site and I am grateful. But please help me with a situation I have.
Some folks write in saying that Gundam stuff is dead boring. Some say that Japan stuff is boring. Some hate the figures. Should I listen to all these constructive comments to improve my site? I'm not sure I would have much to write about if I did ^o^

You also mention that people are used to my figures and toys - should I only write about those subjects?

Awaiting your contructive feedback.

Oh but wait - you dont like the posts on half naked women so I presume you wont be back to this site and wont read this ^^;

You're right not to try and please everyone, this is your site and it reflects your interests, hobbies, and life. Post what you want. I don't recall signing any paperwork requiring me to come here. I come here because I enjoy your posts.

I'm not a figurine collector, but I can appreciate the interests and effort in assembling a Gundam (and the end results look great), and should I start, this site (and Figure.fm) will be one of the first ones I come to as a reference.

I also appreciate a view into life on Japan because, well let's face it. Its a view into living in another country. I also like the Stormtrooper posts, all of the technology and anime posts (and the half-naked women ;) ).

There have been a number of websites that I have stopped going to for various reasons. I've enver felt that they were obligated to be unless I was giving them money. And in the few I did give moeny, to, I cancelled my accounts. In every case, I stopped going to them. Its that simple.

So thank you Danny for a enjoyable website that invariably gives me a few chuckles and guffaws. And should I ever get to Tokyo, I'd like to buy you a few beers or other preferred beverage of your choice

hey Danny,

Ok first of all, i didn't say i don't like this and that. In fact, i like your website alot. It always give us something fresh and original. Being a fan of japanese culture, your site is amazing.

All i was just saying that it is inevitable to cease people to critique. By showing this topic do you think they will stop? You could lessen the amount of folks (if they realize what they're doing), but no matter what you do there is always a hard headed slime out there will continue.

Another thing, you forgot the word "some" when i said "You should know
better that some folks are used to your figures, models, scenes etc but not half naked ladies". I am not suggesting that you should only post particular demanding topics, but some people doesn't know how to appreciate changes that's why you are recieving some negative feedbacks. Let me give you a simple example. When you upload your new banner or main navigation, did everyone like it? You did get 3 answers. 1. They like the older one because it looks better 2. They like the new one because it loads faster like you said 3. People just don't find it a biggie deal because either way it looks fine (that's me btw). So what did you do? You said you're going to work on some update that'll let the visitors pick if they want the old or the new. That way, you satisfy both sides, that leaves you to no conflict. Bottom line is, everyone has different flavours and needs.

And for the record, why would i don't like half naked women? lol Well, you can ask the dude who finds it bizarre, but not me. ^^

Hope it not to humid in Tokyo. I just finish talking to my fiancee in Osaka and it's still too humid for her. Anyway, I wanted to leave a post before I finish this day. I only know you from your website but I have a lot of respect for you. I can see you are doing exactly what needs to be done in life... Making it the best you can for yourself and those you love. You also take time to share with the rest of us out here. I really enjoy and appreciate all of it. Everyday, I make time to visit your site. It helps me to stay focus on my goals. I know you are doing with your life exactly what I want to do as well. Now that I'm on your good side...

I personaly don't mind all the idol and maid post. My fiancee is not fond of my looking at such things, that is my problem. I don't say anything because I know most of they guys are enjoying themselves. For me, it would be nice if you talked more about everyday life in Japan. All those mundane things are important because I will be living there in about three years. Problem is many of the other visitors would probably fall asleep reading such things. (^o^) I know sooner or later you will talk about such things and then I will get to ask questions.

If I had such a dislike for what you put on your site; I would stop complain and wasting everyones time. I can think of an individual who has been complaining about a long over update to a popular VoIP application. Now the beta has been released... Yes, he is still complain. What is it with some people!

Your post on figure and Gundam are great stuff! These are long time passions of mine. It's nice to have someone willing to share their passion and tips on building. So of course I enjoy see updates on what kit is coming our way.

I don't want to take up a lot of space. You keep giving us more of the same. I know most of us are really enjoying and eager to get more! So let me close by telling everyone this; When you leave a post try to be constructive. Hey Danny, how about more on Gundam Stargazer, have you found any new applications for your mac, have you heard anything about (fill in the blank). It's one of the best ways we can let him know what we are thinking.

Enjoy your afternoon Danny. Thanks for such a great website.

For me, your site provides a window into a different world with a style that combines just the right mix of technology, fun, and wit.

Your content is good enough that people cared to tell you how they felt. That says something in itself.

Do what you love, the rest will fall into place.

Thank you Danny.

p.s. If you ever venture over to NYC, please let me know so that I may buy you a proper round of drinks. ;)

The guys who complain are obviously a bit 'differently abled' - Why come back to a site you don't like? My advice is stop bitching and moaning, and go and do better yourself if you think you can. Danny obviously puts a lot of work into his site, and its only something he does in his spare time - give the guy a break! Well done Danny, keep up the good work mate!! :D

Afflicted for my English “google”, I am only one French…

I often do not speak on your site, but there, I find that people are odd.

If they are not content with what you put on line, they have to only go on other site, not?

everyone has its opinion. everyone has also the right to do what he wants in the life. If for you, you like to go in the streets of dressed up Tokyo, and that that does not pose any problem; it is your right. You do not make evil (at least, you do not speak… mh mh mh ;p ). Then, where is the problem?

Personally, the “maids”, that do not interest me at all. But when I see that the update of your site speaks about that, I do not shout with the scandal. I await the continuation, which is very often interesting.

You have an owl site. Continuous.

ha ha, great "quote" danny! i visit here often but hardly leave comments, this one was worth spending time typing a comment.

i think if you expect someone to tailor information for you maybe you should google it yourself instead of asking someone to serve it to you in their personal weblog. if you have the time to write comments you certainly have the time to spend searching for something more interesting to you. life is too short, spend your time wisely and give danny a break, man.

i don't care what you do danny, whether you decide to waste your time & money on toys, degrading female figurines, and japanese idols... the question that i find myself constantly asking, is: how does your wife feel about all of this?
with your penchant for scantily clad women, does she ever feel inadequate or does she ever wonder whether she's good enough? why else would you spend time on such things? i don't know how your marital relationship is, whether your wife accepts these things in silence or you have a mutual understanding (you do your thing she does hers) - whatever the state of your relationship is in - i find it somewhat upsetting. you may not be cheating on your wife physically, but can she be certain that if someone better (no matter how attractive your wife may be- there is always better) came along - you wouldn't mess up your relationship with your wife? or is it all about "the physical" and emotionally- your wife takes centre stage- because i don't really buy that... anyway, as a fellow human being who cares (about your wife's well-being), i just wanted to get you to think about these things and perhaps reconsider. if your relationship is perfect, and your wife has no beefs, then disregard what i said. i, personally, wouldn't want this kind of relationship for myself.

Concerned? MYOB in USA
How nice to have people like Concerned- who cares so much about a blog author's life..i believe your concern is well received. Even I'm touched by your sympathy and care.

Well like what most people say, care for other people who care. That's what makes the world a better place. You see, I'm also concerned about how much you have put so much of an attention into someone else's life, or way of living; and definitely I'm much more worried about how much of time you actually took to ponder about what he does with his life, his hobbies, and his wife, and even how his wife thinks about his hobbies..maybe you forgot to review how much of an basement dweller of you who can't brush his teeth properly, who skip breakfast lunch and dinner to visit yaoi sites? Have you thought how your parents feel about having a queer underground critter for a kid? Maybe they tried to accept that keep it in silence, or even your family respect children's freedom and things like that, I don't really buy that. If your family is perfect, and
your parents are fine with it, then disregard what i said. I,
personally, wouldn't want this kind of kid for
myself.

I bet everyone who reads here (especially concerned-) finds this 99.99% bullcrap and a completely retarded pile of assumptions, not to mention trying-to-tell-other-people-how-to-treat-a-wife nosy nothingbettertodo resource-wasting etc etc. Definitely the kinda feeling that you feel when good infromative bloggers like Danny reads that concerned post.

>AHEM< ... Actually... you Own!!!

One of your loyal fans,

Oh but wait - you dont like the posts on half naked women so I presume you wont be back to this site and wont read this ^^;

The "gets on my nerves" is a really constructive comment to improve Danny's site. Not.
