Sorry about the missed Friday post - just got back from a business trip to Hong Kong. Our schedule was packed with meetings, meetings and eating good food ;-) Some nice pics coming soon.

First found out about King Gainer from the figures at the World Hobby Festival 13 and managed to watch a few episodes after. The animation and BGM is nice and there are some cute girlies in it so that fact alone makes it worth watching. The main mecha is this King Gainer which kind of looks like a funky outfit rather than a mobile suit. Are those things sticking out the back of the head meant to be dreadlocks?
This Revoltech figure comes out next month and will cost around 1,995 yen.
Those who dont know anything about this anime can take a peek at the OP over at YouTube.

Scans from either Dengeki Hobby or Hobby Japan.

that thing is just a gaint jamaican with white hair. Personally i wouldnt classify king gainer as a mecha. Overman = another way of rephrasing
超人. If you watched the whole anime, you'll understand what I mean

I think a mech should look like a robot not some guy in a suit that looks like he's got metal dreadlocks.

Just from the model alone I don't think I'll be watchin the series.

I like it but I don't. I like the curves of it and all but in the end it just looks like a mutated rabbit. Sould've been called King Bunny Foofoo

Hi Danny, love your site! Any idea how I can get my hands on the Limited Version of Mizuki Takase? Been looking high and low and everywhere but can only find the normal white version. Thanks!

My Sick Donkey pwns Overman King Gainer any day!!! It's definitely one of the most unattractive mecha designs I have ever seen (and I've seen quite a few). The EVA-02 on that same page, however, is my favorite Evangelion Unit, and I can't wait for that to come out. I was pretty happy with the older Kaiyodo EVAs, but from everyone I talked to, these Revoltech figures blow those ones away.

@Andy H: Dood, are they really making an Ingram? That's freakin awesome. I'd also love if they made some Revoltech Arm Slaves from Full Metal Panic....especially the Arbalest.

I'm really tempted by the Eva Revoltech (missed the clear yellow one in Figure Ou #100, sadly). I hope we'll see Units 3 and 4, or the Mass Production units in Revoltech form.

CyberS: Yes, Revoltech Ingram Unit 1 has been listed by HobbyNet for a September release. No info yet, though.

Thanks for the pics, Danny.

Yare yare! What's the matter with everybody? I always thought King Gainer was a fantastic design. Originality is the key to victory you know.
