It's good to see that Bandai seem to be coming out with more MG's of late although I personally would love to see more PG's (and maybe less of the HGUC's.)
These are the prototype models of F91 but I think I've seen more recent shots of the completed model online somewhere. I notice that the mags cant get the latest and greatest out to us as fast as the internet can. Generally, Toy n figure news is already old by the time these mags hits the shelves - makes me wonder if they are worth buying - worth it for the pics of models but probably not for the latest news...
If you have some coolsome links for the latest J toys n figures that you would like to share - feel free to post em.
Scans from either Hobby Japan, Dengeki Hobby or Monthly Candy Girl Digest.

Ah...the F91

Now thats my kind of Gundam, it looks a bit on the rough side, but in these shots they were still modeling the thing so I wont pass judgement just yet! I hope its as good as the rest of the more recent MG releases! ^_^

Why do you like these Gundam action figures so much? There design and structure looks absolutely hilarious and stubborn to me. I must agree that they do have some creativity in their construction - but it's getting a little old, don't you agree? The only thing I like about them is their wings (if they even have them, that is). Gundam should at least try to evolve a little...

Bandai-namco should have considered making more version twos of gundams, like a star dust memory gundams, or gundams frm destiny into MG, (like strike freedom since they have the molds of original freedom already.

I like the MG F91 (that being one of the first Gundam movies I saw), but I'll have to disagree with your opinion that less HGUCs should be put out; the HGUCs are great for those of us who like the Gundam series and working with model kits, but lack the space for the 1/100 and 1/60 scale kits, like me (I live in a small flat).

Nonetheless, I hope that Bandai changes their mind about the proposed MG F90 Gundam. It's a more 'traditional' design, and from the mockup pics I saw of it (shown at the same hobby fair as the F91), it looks far better.

One last comment, to the student who posted: These are model kits, not toys. Part of the fun of Gundam is not just building as is, but customization of certain kits. It's not a tiny display toy that you buy and put on your tabletop like some McFarlane static statue; this is something you have to put sweat, effort, and a bit of love into doing, to make it look good, and far more satisfying.

If you won't understand that, you have no right to make a comment about Gundam kits.

I'm kind of wary of this after hearing about the polycapless system. Still, it looks nice. I might skip out on it in favor of the F90 if its MG version ever sees the light of day.

This MG's rather good, I like that they're playing with different concepts (the face, a more organic & detailed chasis, a more unified overall design, a coolsome base for a stand, etc), but i don't like that it still has a box/polycap wrist joint, but that's minor. The polycap-less technology... never seen it before but I guess Bandai has to know what they're doing if they're making the leap.

I disagree on the HGUC line - they're immaculately detailed for their scale, and some of they are just amazing. The latest slew of transformables are technologically amazing. Hazel Advanced has to be one of the most amazing units, and the addon G-Unit from Dengeki really adds to it, despite rendering my Hazel totally immobile :p The Gabthley is also amazingly articulate and well-designed - technically and visually.

However I do wish the designers could move away from the default gundam-look... It's getting too much when you have a shelf full of the same blue/white/red + antenna humanoids... Ex-S was great.

Let me clarify a few things people have said. First and foremost the PG line is most definately not being canceled. If something like that were to happen I would know trust me. Its just that PGs take a long time to design, and get working. Not to mention there are so many factors that they have to go through on the business side of things...

Secondly the F90 was only a mod of the F91 MG. It was just a display piece for the show that the F91 was announced at. It will not be available as an MG model.

Actually, i've been waiting for the MG version of F91 for a long time. But judging from the various photos i've seen in the past month or so, honestly, i am kinda dissappointed.

Dun get me wrong, F91 is my absolutely most favorite gundam design. But i find this revised verison(this done by katoki no?)too bulky and lacking the organic curves that F91 famous for. It has the overall unity for sure, but it is just not quite the same as the F91 i hv come to love.

Either way, i will buy 1 if not 2 kits for sure lol Oh and the joint between the upper and the forearm is a turn off as well ><

I agree that F91 is an old design, and it should be MG form in the early. But technology on the past few years are not allow Bandai to do so because Gundam that on F91 series are in a small size. 1/100 scale only 16cm tall. No details can be shown so not point to be a MG version.

I do happy by now because it seems Bandai will put most Gundam into MG form. This is good news, soon or later we can buy Gundam that we like in a details and awesome MG form
=)

While Bandai are busy doing the MG form for the small scale gundam (F91 series, V gandam and so on), I do think the MG Strike Freedom will be coming soon because it is easy for them to make a great MG Strike Freedom with the technology they have now (maybe just like the demo MG Strike Freedom we have seen before).

Any way, Whatever MG, PG, HGUC... I do happy that GUndam can still last long. If one day Gundam are missing from earth or no more production... I will be dam lonely.
