I thought I was going to have to wait another few months before I got my hands on a DS Lite. Every now and then, a few shops would get in a stock of 10 which would be sold out within the first 30 seconds – practically impossible to get.
The interesting thing is that a shop clearly states on a sign “We will be getting only 10 units today” but you’ll see about 30 people lining up – the last 20 hoping that the person in front dies or something.

Now here’s a tip for getting your hands on a DS Lite in Japan. Go to some place where the normal crowd wouldn’t think of looking – a general supermarket like Daiei perhaps. One normally conjures up images of milk n eggs when one thinks of Daiei (its like Tescos or Safeways) but Daiei also carry electronics too which is where we got ours ;-)

I've been waiting for the DS lite since it was announced.
The DS alone is worth getting for games like castlevania, nintendo dogs, phoenix wright,Super Mario64.

The Psp is cool......but majority of its games are sort of a PS2 port...which doesnt really makes sense to me. Also, its 4 hour battery life, is a big turn off.

Face the reality, theres more unique games on the DS than PSP

GET THE DS!!!!
:P

How can you have a DS lite? Is this a trick question?

It was woefully inadiquate before, is it like a one colour screen?!

I've pre-ordered mine this week !!! We Europeans have to wait 'till June 23th *sobs*, and I kinda figured there might be a lot of demand. So yeah...had to make sure I'd hold my brand new white DS lite on that day! There's gonna be a hdd for the DSl so you can watch movies on it and that kinda stuff, also there's a pack so you can play all the nicely *caugh* downloaded roms on ur DS lite if you're a cheapskate who doesn't want to import from the US or Japan (I'm one of those). Region free is something ALL new consoles, wether it be handheld or not should have. I'm happy the DSl is, so I can grab some games next year when I'm going to Japan ^.^v

The DS is so cool. THe touch screen really adds to the quality of the interactivity. And the two screens are simply gorgeous. I have a regular DS though, so I don't think I will be picking up the Lite. -- still wishes he got the red DS.....

Nice tip Danny, A lot of people got hold og the Xbox 360 on launch, despite supply problems. People don't realize that because of their huge buying power, they can often secure more stock than regular game shops.

I already own a PSP but I'm thinking of getting a DSl when it's released here. Maybe I'll get the black version that will also be released in Europe.

I was deciding between the DS and PSP for awhile now. But for me, I would choose the PSP. Because you can put pictures on it, music, and you can convert video files like eroge O_o??, or AV!!, and put them on your PSP. Since the PSP is portable, it makes a good healthcare item, set the video on play, and do your thing, :) .
