War in the Pocket was the only Gundam series where I cried at the end! The series was short and I feel that there wasn't enough mecha action but the human story around this series really gave me that tingling feeling.
RX-78NT-1 Alex is the Gundam that the story revolves around which we dont get to see too much of. The GFF version is a good representation but be prepared for typical GFF properties - the left leg falls off easily and so does the leg armor. This can be fixed using the fixing loose joints though.

By the way, fixed the undesired behavior of the RSS feed refreshing every time there was a new comment - sorry about that.

If you are viewing this post on the top page of the live site, you will see the introduction of the "view the rest of this post" type link - this is to prevent the top page from being heavier than heavy.

I loved War in the Pocket, but it was pretty short and depressing. The Kämpfer was so cool, though. It's still one of my favorite MS designs.

I really liked War in the Pocket, its really good story makes up for the lack of MS on MS action! ^_^

The figure looks nice too! I think the arm Gatlins of the Alex is the coolest Gundam gimmick out there!

Thats my fav Guundam Series, the mecha are very stylised and yet bore strong resemblence to the original OYW design.

It having my fav Hygog and Kampfer difinitely are pluses.

The absence of the usual Gundamish rhetorics is oso a bonus.

Finally, I found a person that cry for WAR IN POCkET, just like I do. Danny~~!!!

This is the first gundam series I have in my life. It is very different from others series that this series have a very less gundam action scene but heavy human nature.

I pity the ZAKU pilot who seem to fall in love with the Gundam female pilot. He have to fight her at the end. Or can I said fortunately, they don't know they are trying to kill each other in the fight.

It have a nice story. Please watch it. GUNDAM 0080!!! =)

I loved this series too, and it did make me sad the see the ending. And, the Kampfer is cool, but it made me cry that it only got about five minutes of screen time before it got royally raped by the Alex.

Ah..the War In the Pocket. The Alex is a Gundam built specificly for New-types if i am not wrong. And ya, the mecha in the series were all beautiful, from the GMs to the Zakus, and the kits that come with the series is also well made! They were the first gundams i ever bought! Now i've got a total of 6 GMs,3 Zakus,3 Doms,a Kampfer,2 Hygogg and a Galgoog from the series! But its a pity the GM sniper and guncanon was not produced. Do watch the series! Its beautiful.

It's to bad you couldnt get a full armor version, even if it is big and bulky.
Personaly I like Kämpfer better than Alex, Alex didnt have enough special weapons.

Kämpfer should have won!;)

The Gundamfix version is very detailed as usual and as expected from Mr. Katoki Hajime's creative mind. As for the anime, Haruhiko Mikimoto's's style is timeless. It looks good up to now. I wish the Alex Gundam was sent to Amuro in the war instead of barely winning and getting thrashed against the Kampher.

Ahhh Gundam Alex...I started doing model kits by just doing the non-grades that i bought from target, and i never tried to make them look better with paint or anything (but now I am a full blown modeler) and the first model kit i ever bought that was at a higher level was Gundam Alex. IT SUCKED!!! it was a high grade just becasue it gave your the extra runners full of armor. I've tried twice to make it look good now, and i still can't. I want a MG version or somthing becasue these pics rock
