If you've got an MG Hyakushiki kit knocking around, you may want to have a look at these pics for some modding tips. I'm not a Hyakushiki expert myself so cant really see the differences - all I see when I look at these scans is another cool Gundam kit.

Pretty neat. Though i really think i prefer the torso to be blue. Gives more 'kick' to the mod. Hey danny, i'm a pretty new modeller, would it be ok if i were to ask you questions on modelling gundams?

Hm the gold looks recoloured! I've been hearing about how the old HyakuShiki had that really ugly bright gold electroplated coating is the one thing that made the fist generation MG undesirable. People late found work arounds such as "Formula (something... I can't recall at this moment" which can be used to dissolve away the gold colour so you could customize it to what ever looks better =).

Cheerio

Some people may not like shiny gold coating of the original MG Hyaku Shiki, but I personally like it. It stands out from the excess of red, white, and blue that most Gundam tend to use. I believe the HG 1/144 Akatsuki has a similar coating.

Oh and the custom model does look pretty sweet.. a bit excessive on the gold though. As someone mentioned earlier, the torso is suppose to be blue.

Formula 409 and fatastic will stripp gundam chrome> bleach, paint-thiner, will not work properly and end up truning your plastic to a degraded britle mess just FYI...

As for the type 100 it looks to have mainly joint and torso mods as well as some minor cosmetic tweaks and of course the awsome paint job.

I got one Hyakushiki,my cousin from the US gave it to me,its a MG,but I did not assemble it yet.Because I have a problem in making or mixing paint to make a gold color.Maybe I will not paint it or will buy some Tamiya paints.Tamiya paints here are expensive.Got to save money for the next Toycon here in Manila to buy brandnew toys and loose toys this coming August.

I think that's the one from the recent MG Hyakushiki with Ballute Weapon System. The kit's not gold plated so the price is cheaper and you won't need to strip any plating. This one sure looks super cool though I still prefer the original gold-plated version.
