For those who did'nt pre-order their Nao (MMORPG Mabinogi) had less than 40 minutes before she was sold out in stores all over Akihabara. When I read the news I started to throw a cold sweat because I didn't pre-order one - reason being that if you order figures online, you dont have the fun of going to the store to take all of them off the shelf to check the paintwork and at the same time annoy the store keeper.
I decided that rather live life without this figure, I would drag myself back to what I call "Tokyo's Hackney" - Ikebukuro - not one of my favorite places. I used to work there for 5 months and the residents just sent shivers down my spine...
Anyway - when I worked there, I learned of a toy n figure store hidden in a dark alley (BicCamera actually) which just always seemed to be stocked full of the latest toys - just managed to pick up the last Nao from the shelf - and the gallery to follow soooon.
First time here?

That's so funny that you compare Ikebukuro with Hackney. I live in Victoria Park, Hackney and stayed in Ikebukuro on holiday last year - I love both places, though felt safer in Tokyo! Do they even have crime in Tokyo? Forgive the shocking naivete, but I was soooo smitten with Tokyo, that I can't imagine anything bad happening there! I also love Macross, and a future project is to build my 4 gate armoured factory back with destroids and Valks.
