Akiba is the coolest place on earth in my mind but is also the most feared place on earth at times because after each visit, you dont really realize how much money you have spent! Be very careful when you come over to Japan for a visit - if you dont watch your pocket while in Akiba you wont have enough money left for the train back to the airport. Well I suppose you can sell your air ticket but then you wont be able to get back to whereever you hail from - and if you then stay for too long, you will end up joining the 207299 illegal immigrants in Japan.
Anyway back to the interesting stuff. I picked up another Gouf Custom because I dont want to keep removing the Efreet armor, an adapter which converts 3.5 inch IDE drives into USB2 drives (doesn't bloody work though - need to take it back), some paints to clean up some of my Fix Figuration figures, some magazines and other crap.

I'd like to quickly complain about the Fix Figuration packaging - it takes ages to get the thing out of the box what with all the wire and tape holding the thing in the box - a right pain in the Bristol Cities - even worse for the figures which come with a million pieces.

OK, enough complaining for the day.
The catch of the day is what you see below - a limited edition of Natsumi Hinata which came out last Feb - have been trying to get my hands on it forever and finally found it in K Books located just outside Akihabara station.
For those who dont know, Hinata appears in Keroro Gunso and plays the role of a school girl who runs around looking cute. Great role eh?
Anyway, this limited edition "Powered Natsumi" was designed by Mine Yoshizaki and Katoki Hajime - yep the guy we all know and love for his Gundam designs. You will see a gallery coming soon (after the Blue Destiny Gallery) but in the meantime can read more and if you really feel like it you can read even more.

Ya gotta love Katoki! Much better then Kunio Okiwara (hope I spelled that right ~_~) Ya know if I visited Japan, that would probably be the scenario that I would go through...buying too much Gundam stuff and not being able to return home...I can see myself doing that sadly ^_^

That IDE to USB adapter looks pretty neat! What was wrong with it. Seems to be a great way to pull data off an old hard drive.

Must be amazing to just .. walk in and take a deep breath of the store air that contains all of these figures and such. Can we work something out where we. You speak english and Japanese? Lucky. My father never taught me how to speak the native tongue.

Akihabara. Heaven on Earth.

No where else can I bathe in pure Wapaneseness and feel so united whilst grabbing myself a limited edtion 1/72 Aoshima Aliens Dropship. Either that or perhaps like 8 other kits of the GFF series. I might even get lucky and find some of the old Patlabor EX model kits! ZOMG!

Oh yes, don't they have those Akiba girls dressed as maids that serve you coffee? YUM!

Next would probably be the Odaiba area, specially the ALL TOO COOL Tokyo Big Site, which our friend Danny will be invading for Wonder Festival 2006.
