Asuka Langley

Until I went to the WHF I had never heard of F-Face. After checking out their website I wish I knew about them earlier. This is their figure of Asuka Langley which you all recognize is from Evangelion. As soon as I clapped eyes on this I wanted it immediately - but unfortunately it was a limited edition that was available last March - you could only get one if you ordered the mag Shonen Ace and sent in a coupon that was in it. ARRRGGGGGGHHHHHH.
But when there is a will there is a way and I have been scouring auction sites in Japan in the hope of getting my grubby mitts on one.
So what I like about this figure is that its cute, incredibly small and yet amazingly articulate - check out the pic of Ayanami below to see what I mean.
You can see more pics of this Asuka figure and the Ayanami figure at F-Face's site.

I've seen those F-Face stuff before particularly the Phantasy Star stuff very posable and detailed for really small figures.

Jay, Thanks for the heads up. I didnt expect them to be sold outside Japan. I can finally grab myself some =)

Damn, I saw that figurine some time ago in a website and it turned to be that 'hard to get' item? I really would like one, but life is harh... Maybe I should start to make my own sculpts...

Wow! That figure looks awesome. I never realized that the plug suits were made up of armored plates attatched to a skin-tight suit. I really want one. Is there a site I could get one off of?

Hi Danny. I have the Asuka figure, but i assure you it doesn't look as good as those pre-production pictures you've posted. The face sculpt is fugly and there is a really ugly seam line across her fringe hair.

What makes this figure worse is the joints are VERY VERY loose. The shoulders and hands keep popping off everytime you try to pose it. You'd need a good deal of customisation to keep them together.

I'd say its not worth the effort looking in ebay etc for this figure. But if you really need it to have it next to your Rei figure, then go get it by all means. ;)

I almost had a heart attack when the shoulders pop off BEFORE I start moving them. I had to drill the sockets of each arms deeper so they could actually fit the ball joints XD

I have this figure and it doesn't have a seam across the hair and looks just like the photo. The only complaignt is the plugs in her suit in the front are black dots and not silver like they should be and yes, her arms like to fall off = My Rei figure is 100% fine though. These figures are amazing but incredibly expencive. I managed to get them as a set on E-Bay for $100. You can find the Rei on on some finge and toy sites for $70 but never the Asuka one. Check e-bay, that's all I can say.
